(Y/n) rubbed her tender neck carefully, trying not to yank her hair out in frustration because of the excruciating feelings of being stressed during finals week.

(Y/n) sighed softly, rubbing the knot that developed at the end of her neck because of her constant anxiety, which just increased during this time of year.

From asking for tea at a cafe to talking to her classmates, everything seemed to trigger feelings of nervousness and dread. Only with close members of her family or her closest friends could (Y/n) truly relax about all the stress factors of her life.

(Y/n) checked her watch for what seemed like billionth time, shaking her right leg nervously without thinking. No response from Peter yet, again, which caused (Y/n) to mumble under her breathe about waiting for thirty minutes for her close friend.

"Why isn't he here yet? Doesn't he know I need to ace all my finals?" (Y/n) muttered under her breath in frustration, fiddling with her beat-up pencil.

(Y/n) allowed her mind to wander, unable to focus on the pieces of notes scattered at the cafe's table.

(Y/n) began to think of the stress that her finals had on her mind. It didn't help that she began thinking of all the things she had to do: finish her homework, clean her room, finish club requirements, sign-up for volunteering, study for the SAT, and so forth.

(Y/n)'s thoughts began to race uncontrollably, trying to calm herself before things got out of hand.

Stop (Y/n). Don't freak out. Pete's probably on his way. You can study by yourself, too.

But (Y/n) couldn't shake off the panic she had started by overthinking. (Y/n) swiftly shut her laptop, stuffing all her materials quickly inside her bag hastily.

But why didn't he call me? Does he not care? Does he not think it's worth it?

(Y/n) began to feel her eyes tear up, unable to control the overwhelming thoughts of her nervous head.

Maybe Pete doesn't wanna study with me. Maybe he forgot about me. I wouldn't wanna study with me.

(Y/n) began to stand up, swinging her heavy bag tiredly over her shoulders. She felt slightly dizzy, unable to keep proper balance as she continued to feel water collect in her eyes.

But if I don't study, then I'm gonna fail my finals. If I fail my finals, I won't get a good GPA. If I don't get a good GPA, I won't go to a good college. If I don't go to a good college, I won't get a good job. If I don't get a good job, I'll fail at life itself. If I fail life itself, my parents will be disappointed in me. If my parents are disappointed in me, then how can anyone else care about me? And if no one else cares about me, then I'll live life alone, sad and old. And if I live alone, sad and alone, I'll die sad and old, never fulfilling my dreams and passions.
