 Hellooooo!

Summer is ending!

At least that's how it feels like to me. I'll be going to a primatology field school down in Costa Rica for three weeks. That means I won't get much sleep, which in turn means I might not wright during that time. But fear not, the story will go on! I have like 3/4 of the next chapter done so it might be posted before I go to my tirp, so in less than ten days.

After seeing her father leave the hallway Yenive stepped in to her brother's room.

"So I guess it went great if no one is dead” she said closing the door behind her.

"Yet” Kara said to herself as she started to pace the room. She heard Marko's low rumble and paused to look at him "what? You know it is only a matter of time before I do something that earns me the end of a sword." Marko was growling but she ignored it. "The only reason he didn't kill me was because of my lineage."

"Lineage?" Yenive asked.

"She is Marcile's daughter” Marko clarified as Kara kept rambling.

"So now I am scared out of my mind, not because your father might kill me, not because I am in unknown territory but because my power might kill me at any moment and take everyone I care about with me." she stopped in front of the window taking deep breaths as she fought her tears of frustration back.

Kara let out a long breath when a warm embrace came around her. She knew it wasn't Marko not by a longshot. This was all Yenive. "I don't know all the details of what's going on, but I know everything will be just fine. You will live a long happy life beside my bossy brother and after some training your power will be the least of your worries. Soon you'll only worry about having... kids and making sure they don't steal your horses. "

Kara smiled for a moment at the idea of kids but she didn’t think she would live long enough to see them. And that hurt more than anything she had experienced.

She shook her head at the idea, "I need to leave.” she said unwrapping Yenive's arms from around her. She hastily made her way to the door but Marko blocked her way.  "What was the point of me even coming here, to meet a stranger? Then what? You could have just given me directions and I would have gotten to Vorgon myself.  But no “she dragged the “no”. "You wanted me to come here, to be your mate, well here I am, take a good look because I might be dead in a few minutes."

Marko pulled her into his arms shutting her up in the process. He was tired of hearing her talk that way. "Why can’t you understand that you are not going to die, that you won’t kill me or anyone? That I know how to stop this. The only reason I haven't done the merge is because you are not ready."

She pushed away from him felling so angry that her skin was literally covered in a low blue fire "what else do we need? We are mates and blood bonded."

"Yes that helps, but you need to accept things."

"What?" she yelled.

"That you need me as much as I need you" he yelled back his eyes glowing pale. Then with a softer voice he said "If you can’t admit your feelings to yourself how be you supposed to admit and share them with me? How are we supposed to share... everything?"

Marko touched her cheek and the fire over her skin subsided along with her anger.

He let his hand fall beside him and after taking a deep breath he turned to leave the room. "You will stay inside the castle until I deem it safe enough." he said flatly as he left.
