TRIGGER WARNING

The black curly haired vixen, the one that annoyed him, the light of his life.

Min Kyunsoo. His elder sister.

That day when she had written the letters on his lighter Y.K beseeching him, his heart had smiled. She was harsh with him as she was playful.

Y.K

Yoongi and Kyunsoo.

Their initials, a silent contract between them to not speak of what had happened in their childhood. A reminder to themselves that no one was true and that they had just each other.

It had all started the evening when Yoongi and his sister had come home from school early one day to find their mother, unclothed and naked save for the sweat that glistened on her skin mixed like diamonds with the unknown man above her.

They had shut the door and left, wandering around for hours until darkness fell and Kyunsoo's sobs were consistent as her breaths and Yoongi uniform blazer was white with tears.

Yoongi wasn't surprised. He didn't even cry.

He had lost his trust a long time back.

There had been recurring fights in their house lately, ones that was left prolonged with their father leaving the house drunk and abusive.

Their parents had been once in love, a love so pure and undiluted, yet weak against the whispers in the air produced by jealous and conniving minds. They had fallen prey to it, their love fading away like a mirage in their dessert as jealousy and insecurities took over. It didn't help when the money fell either.

They were both at fault, it wasn't like the Min siblings could pick a fair side. Their mother was rash and compulsive, constantly verbally chipping away at their father's insecurities and fuelling his anger. As they say, the one who loves you best, can hurt you the most.

Also, because she couldn't physically hurt her husband, she hit her children. Bruises and welts form this morning, still painted their arms and thighs under their carefully modest clothes.

What was it for? For not making the bed and misplacing their clothes.

But they had gotten used to it, smiling and laughing unnerving their mother to a point where she yelled at them for smiling. Hey, at least the bruises didn't hurt that much anymore.

Kyunsoo got the brunt of it though. As the elder and female, she was beaten by both of their parents for not cleaning the house or cooking regularly as she was supposed to.

Who the hell cared that she was in senior year and had to start looking for colleges near her like her peers right?
