she walks over to me and grins falsely, she stops in her tracks and looks me up and down,
"speak then"
i fumble my words and what comes out sounds like,
"ermm, id doedef fhfijj"
"jesus christ erin, english would be nice"
i look down and sigh, then i meet her eyes again.
"what's wrong with you, lighten up, you're making me feel miserable."
"sorry."
i twiddle my thumbs and stare at her eyes.
"i got 25/30 on my english, what did you get?"
my heart sinks, i don't want to tell her that my score was higher, she looks so happy about her grade.
"20"
her eyes begin to fill with water and a massive mocking smile appears on her face, she bursts out laughing,
"20! is that it? god you need to revise more erin"
i look away and roll my eyes, i never used to get annoyed by her, but lately, i can't stand her, yet again i'm really trying my best.
i nod to her in response to her mocking statement.
"erin are you listening to a word i'm saying?"
"no, sorry i was daydreaming, sorry."
"Stop saying sorry all the god damn time, it's annoying"
"sorry"
she glared at me after i said 'sorry' again. i forced a smile at her, she laughed and went back to her seat. i wiped my face and i whispered to myself,
'just a few more hours, then i'm done.'
i kept imagining it, the way i'd do it, today was just reassurance.
reassurance that it was the right time,
and that was when i started counting down the hours to when i would do it.
-
"erin come on, you're annoying me, talk to me!"
-
"sorry"
