"This is fucking awkward," Mizuchi inserted his opinion as they all sat outside on the rooftop.

"I trust you've all brought the proper ninja tools?" Rin asked, folding her arms.

All three of them nodded, still unsure of what opinion to formulate upon their sensei. "Good," Rin nodded approvingly, "then after introductions, we can get started."

"Sensei!" Naruto raised his hand, his eyes confused, "didn't we already pass the test at the Academy to become genin? Why do we have to do this other test. It's so unfair, dattebayo!"

Rin chuckled a bit at his word choice. "That was simply to root out those who have the capability to become genin and those who do not. This test is given from each jonin to their genin and if you fail, you will be sent back to the Academy."

They all straightened at that, eyes gleaming and desperate to prove themselves. "Alright," Rin said nodding, "it seems I have your attention. Why don't you all introduce yourselves?"

The introduction was standard. Naruto ranted about the different types of ramen he ate and then ended with his proclamation to become to Hokage, Sakura squealed about her dreams for the future with a certain someone, and Sasuke looked up in determination and swore that he would surpass his older brother, Itachi. Rin felt her lips twitch when she saw how much the boy looked up to his older brother. She remembered the Sasuke of the other timeline....his eyes were cold and devoid of all emotion. This was a good change....his family and his clan were still alive and he would get to be with Itachi.

"Alright!" She clapped her hands, standing up, "You each have your own unique personality and way of doing things. Let's get to the test!"

Rin led them over to the training field where each of them stood in front of her. Rin slipped out two bells, flicking them so that they tinkled faintly. The genin stared at the bells. "Your assignment is to take these two bells from me," Rin said, "as you can see, the person who does not get the bell will be sent back to the Academy. The clock is set for noon. You have three hours to take the bells from me. Begin!"

They all exchanged looks, looking hesitant. She was promoted to jonin at an age where most became chunin. They knew she was an Uchiha and at least Sasuke and Sakura knew that she had the Sharingan. That and Sasuke heard from the his clansmen that she had a beast sealed inside of her. That and the teenager had a disarming smile on her face.

Rin raised her eyebrow. "Did your legs turn to lead? Even if you're in a hurry to fail, just at least try."

"But I can't attack you, sensei—" Naruto said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head, "you're really nice and pretty—"

Rin laughed gently, "Is that so? Naruto, if you saw a pretty kunoichi in front of your eyes who is about to rip your guts out, will you just let her, then?"

  "But you're nice—" Naruto protested.

Rin gave a closed eye smile. "Shinobi must master the art of deception—I can be a mean hag for all you know. Now try to get the bells from me."

The three genin squared up before Sakura and Sasuke pumped chakra into their feet and leapt into the foliage, masking their chakra so as not to be detected. Rin swiveled her gaze towards Naruto, who was standing proudly in front of her. "I will do anything to pass," Naruto said, squeezing his hand into a fist, "I won't hold back, Rin sensei!"

Rin raised an eyebrow. "Okay, Naruto."

The boy let out a battle cry, swinging his arm back and pushing his weight forwards.

"Is this guy a fucking idiot?" Mizuchi frowned, "I know he wasn't the brightest lightbulb, but I didn't know he was this stupid when he was a kid—"
