Third Person POV

*****

The Konoha Council had called upon the head of each clan in the Hidden Leaf. The arrival of the jinchurriki of the Nibi had severely shaken Konoha to the core as well as the dispute of the green haired girl from Amegakure-- the girl who possessed the kekkei genkei of the Uchiha-- the Sharingan.

The Uchiha Clan's head, Fugaku sat in his chair, his eyes shrewd as multiple possibilities flitted through his head.

The Third Hokage sat among the whole political mess that not only tied Kumogakure but Amegakure as well. Beside him, Danzō sat, his hands folded atop his cane and his eye meeting Fugaku's. The two exchanged a long stare, tension spiking in the room.

"Kumogakure has taken the Nibi," the Third Hokage spoke, his voice bringing order, "they have promised to aid us in digging through with the investigation. Amegakure is now another matter. The kunoichi, Rin, has been found in possession of Sharingan-- the Uchiha's kekkei genkei. However, she is not in the records."  A murmur rose through the room at this.

"Hiruzen--" Danzō spoke, "have you interrogated the kunoichi yet?"

The Third Hokage frowned at this. "She is in no condition to be put in any interrogation-- right now, she is being treated at the Konoha Hospital. She has sustained massive injuries."

"If she is not in the records, then she is put under suspicion," Danzō said expressionlessly, "there is no going around it. We must get to the bottom of this as fast as possible."

"I disagree--" the head of the Nara clan said, his arms crossed, "I have seen the girl risk her life to defend the people from the Nibi's attack and I have see what injuries she carried when she was brought back. She is still a child--" There were murmurs of agreement at this, as Fugaku raised his voice.

"I agree as well," Fugaku spoke, his eyes trained on Danzō, "this investigation can wait-- as head of the Uchiha, I can affirm it, myself."

  Danzō narrowed his eye.

"Very well," Hiruzen said, standing up, "we shall put this meeting to recess and reconvene when Amegakure sends its envoy. Until then, dismissed."

The heads of the clans all filed out while Danzō lingered behind with the Third Hokage. "Soft as ever, Hiruzen--" he murmured, "that girl could be dangerous to the village."

"Yes, but one good thing came out of it--" Hiruzen said, "her arrival was enough to distract the Uchiha from their tension with the Hidden Leaf."

"That may be, but she is still dangerous--" Danzō hissed, his eye flashing, "she is no ordinary child-- she took down the Nibi. And you are putting that thing inside the hospital, right in the center of the Leaf!"

"I've put someone in watch of her," Hiruzen said calmly.

  "Who?" Danzō's eye narrowed.

Shisui watched as the nurse conducted a few tests and scribbled on her clipboard. "How is she?" he asked softly.

The nurse looked up. "She has several broken ribs, a fractured skull, and her internal organs have sustained quite a bit of damage--" she told him, looking at the girl sadly, "her chakra levels are low as well."

  "Is she improving?"

The nurse sighed. "Her condition is delicate. I will keep you posted on updates."

"Arigato," Shisui answered as he looked back at the green haired girl who was injured and lying on the hospital bed.

He was ordered by the Third Hokage to keep a strict watch on her, something he intended to do. Probably because the girl—Rin, has both the Sharingan and whatever the beast was that was sealed inside of her. He was dubbed as one of the strongest of the Uchiha and the Sandaime Hokage used that to order him to guard Rin.

The girl was hardly dangerous as she was before. She would be frightened, and who wouldn't be? She was nearly killed by the assault of the Nibi. Though he couldn't understand her actions before—she drove it out, baited it by escaping from the arena. She was defending Konoha. The only question was why. She could have escaped with her companions after she rescued them but didn't.

And the Sharingan.

She hardly looked the part of an Uchiha though as Shisui looked at her, sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed, he could see a hint of similarity to him. As he sat beside her, rubbing his temple, he watched the girl shiver a bit as he took the blankets and tucked them in more firmly, trying to keep away the cold air. She needed the rest.

Shisui remembered the outrage expressed by the Uchiha. That Amegakure had one of their own—it was all a mess, but it was enough to distract them from the coup d'état. He heard that Amegakure would send an envoy to patch things up. The Chunin Exams were halted, and the respective genin returned to their own homelands. Haruto and Yona Nakamura, however, stayed, insisting that they wouldn't leave until they knew Rin was alright. He admired their spirit for their comrade. Few had it nowadays.

He eyed the green locks that layered the pillow—that strange green hair. Unfamiliar for an Uchiha. Shisui sighed. Rin was caught in the middle of a political turmoil—there was no working way around it.

And he sure as hell knew that she didn't deserve it.
