Epilogue Part Two

   Sasori was tinkering on his puppets before he heard a screech that sounded suspiciously like Deidara's. 

  "Danna!" Deidara nearly cracked the wood of his ears as he crashed open the door, "we got a letter!" He waved the piece of paper like a flag in the air. 

  Sasori rolled his eyes before setting down his tools. "What did the brat write this time?" 

  Deidara impatiently tore it open as Sasori sat beside him and they scanned the letter. 

Dear Sasori and Deidara, 

  I know it's been awhile since I wrote to just you two specifically, but I thought that now would be a good time. How are you two doing? I hope Guren, Yukimaru, Utakata, and Hotaru are all doing well. I suppose the two of you are still squabbling everyday like you always do about art-- well, guess what? We have two mini versions of you called Akito and Natsu running around in our house. I know the last time you saw them, they were still tiny and could only babble about senseless things but they've grown a lot since then. 

  Akito seems to have taken after my hair and now, he kind of looks like a small vegetable running around. He's really energetic and he and his sister, Natsu, are always wrestling with each other. Most of the time, Natsu wins though because Sakura has been teaching her how to explode chakra out of her fists while my back is turned. That brings me to Natsu. She has her father's hair and eyes but she's more like a combination between you two. She has recently exploded the kitchen, though I still don't know how she did it, and she always acts really grumpy like you, Sasori-san. She's impatient and likes things to be done on time, which leads me to believe that you were brainwashing my child while I wasn't looking. 

Akito is always running around, proclaiming that he will become the next Hokage and knock away Naruto. I think that's why he always hangs around Itachi; to get on good terms with the Rokudaime. The funny thing is that Naruto is still oblivious that Akito is determined to be his rival. 

  Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura have all grown a lot since you've last seen them. They are all doing well-- Sasuke became lieutenant of the Leaf Police Force, Sakura became head of Konoha Hospital, and Naruto is standing in line until he becomes the next Hokage. 

 As for me and Shisui, well...we've seemed to reach a good place and each day seems better than the last. I suppose you have all moved past the stage of wanting to kill him at this point, so I am very glad about that too. 

  Anyways, I think I've rambled more than what is necessary, but I just wanted to say that I miss you all and I hope you can visit on Akito's next birthday. He's awfully excited about all of you guys and he says that if becoming Hokage doesn't work out, he will move to Amegakure and become your new leader. 

   Attached below is a photo that all of us took, and I hope you can both enjoy it despite your split art opinions. I actually sent this as a compromise. 

  After all, a photo is taken in an instant and then preserved for all of eternity.

The two artists looked down at the picture, where they could see the two laughing children and their father and mother. Obito was also in the picture, having blinked in that second. 

  Sasori looked down to see Rin smiling brightly, her eyes twinkling like two stars. 

She looked happy. 

"Tch," he said though his eyes said otherwise, "what a brat."

 And for the first time in a long time, the puppet's mouth twitched; almost like a half smile.
