Sasukes little rose

Chapter 1

~ Major Timeskip ~ Mai's POV;

I looked beside me towards my brother, kinda happy we graduated. We are one step closer to finding the one who took our clan away from us. We were in the back, waiting for Iruka-Sensei to announce the teams. I got distracted until the last team was finally announced. "Team 7.....Naruto Uzamaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke uchiha" my heart dropped. Wasn't I going to be with my last bit of family? "Um Iruka-Sensei?" I asked my gloved hand reached into the air.

"Yes Mai?" He said as he was about to sit down. "Which team will I be on?" I asked while listening to the class laugh at me. "Well Mai your actually with team 7. I'm sorry I thought I said your name" he said. I breathed a relief sigh as I looked at my brother. He had a ghost of a smile on as I smiled at him.

The fan girls didn't seem to be happy with that, all death glaring me. I shrunk back in my seat. Forgetting that the Hokage didn't want others to know that I was also a Uchiha to protect not only me but my brother as well. We all got dismissed for lunch and Sasuke went home because he forgot his bento. I told him I'll be at the usual spot and went to sit by the lake that Sasuke and I always trained at. I was halfway through my bento when "so Mai your with our Sasuke ?" One of the girls said as the others cracked their knuckles glaring at me again.

Normally I wouldn't care for the fan girls but they genuinely look mad. "Oh no-" I was cut off when the taller girl with scary muscles picked me up by my collar. I'm way shorter then them so my feet were no longer touching the wharf. "So Mai, I heard you can't swim, is that true? Shall we test it? Yes we shall" the girl said whom I'm assuming is the leader. The tall girl brought me to the edge, only to drop me into the water.

I panicked, trying to move upwards but no matter what I did I just sank. I couldn't hear anything only the pounding in my heart as the burning sensation was getting stronger and stronger. I saw black dots cloud my vision as I tried to call out for Sasuke but only took the minuscule of air I had left. Everything was almost black, I could've sworn I saw sasukes face. I smiled and completely closed my eyes, giving in to the darkness that felt so warm.
'Father, mother and Shisui I will see you again soon~' was my last thought.

Suddenly pain came coursing up my body, shaking my body awake as I felt an overwhelming urge to be sick. I felt my body shot up and spat out the water that found itself in my lungs. I slowly opened my eyes, to my surprise to see my brothers face, although it was one I haven't seen for years. Sadness, anger, worry and even relief. What surprised me more was that he hugged me.

"Mai, what were you thinking!? You know you can't swim!" He said now holding my shoulders causing me to look down. Tears threatened to fall as I felt so useless and couldn't even fend for myself or make my brother happy. "I-I'm so sorry ni-san!" I yelled to him as I tackled him into a hug. The weak me coming out of a shell I fought so hard to make. "What made you go into the water?" Sasuke asked, not used to me willing to go swimming. "U-um -" I cut myself off when I saw those girls again. " I slipped! Yeah I went to go look for you and slipped!" I said convincing myself that I was right. He mustn't know, was all she mouthed before walking away.
