Sasukes little rose

Chapter 6

After many basic D ranked missions, that was starting to frustrate not even Naruto but Sasuke and I.  "No more crazy cat hunting missions" Naruto said keeping his hands in a X position. "I do agree hokage-sama, I don't understand how we can increase our skills by not even using them" I stood up causing Iruka-Sensei seemed to get annoyed. The hokage seemed convinced, "Alright, I'll give you a C ranked Mission. You will be protecting an important bridge builder" he said causing all of us to cheer on the inside.

The bridge builder came in and I instantly smelt the strong alcohol.  He hiccuped before glaring at me and Naruto "How is the idiotic face and child supposed to protect me?" He said smirking sickly. Naruto thought he was talking about him and went to attack the client. I zoned out after that, I was only 10. How did they expect me to be taller like my brother? Could a child do the jutsus I do? Could a child even be stronger then me? In this shinobi world nothing should be surprising

"Mai!" A loud voice said cutting me out of my thoughts, I looked towards the source and it was Iruka-sensei. "Hai" I said now paying attention, Naruto and Sakura laughed a bit. "We will meet at the gates in one hour okay?" Our sensei said as we exited, keeping the ninja and client there. Sasuke and I went home and got our ninja equipment or restocked. Like from the training last night I took every weapon I had.

I had this strange bad feeling in my stomach, nothing could go bad right? I mean it's only C rank. After about half an hour preparing ourselves, we decided to head there early. To our surprise our sensei and the client was already there. Sasuke and I just chilled against the gates, I'm meditating trying to rid of this feeling. I got shivers up by spine as this chilling wind went past, feeling like it went straight through me. The feeling got stronger to a point where I feel like passing out. No I can't be weak anymore! I thought closing my eyes again and relaxing. The feeling subsided to where it's just a nervous buzz, Naruto and Sakura are now here.

We all walked in formation, Naruto and Sakura in the front, Kakashi-Sensei and Tazuna was in the middle, while Sasuke and I were at the back. We didn't speak once, each other's company is enough words. I stopped when I saw a puddle on the ground, I went over to it and stood in it. Seeing how deep it was, 'that's weird... I can sense chakra from there' I went to tell Kakashi but he was already looking at me with  his finger to his mouth in a shh like position.

After a minute or so, I heard noises behind me. My heart stopped, there was people looking like ninja from another village. They threw their chains at Kakashi-Sensei and ripping him to shreds causing the others to yell "WHAT?!" I sighed, he did the substitution jutsu. We didn't get much time as they went to attack Tazuna.  Sasuke was first to react, he threw multiple shuriken at the chains pinning them to the tree. He then went to kick them but they detached themselves from the chains and dodged. I did handsigns and whispered "Wind Style, wind scythe jutsu" and threw wind at them. "Sakura protect Tazuna" Sasuke and I said at the same time.

Sakura quickly grabbed her Kunai and stood in a defensive position in front of our client. I smiled at her, happy she knows what she's doing or appears like it. I felt a sharp sting on my cheek and somehow missed how they slashed my cheek. I brought my gloves hand to my face and wiped the blood. 'Oh there's poison just great' I thought as I felt woozy. I leaped back to defend Sakura as the ninjas went to get Tazuna. My knees have way as the poison is working. Sasuke was in front of me and protecting me as I tried to think of the signs to extract the poison, as my mind was fuzzy and unable to think.

I figured out the jutsu just as Kakashi came out of no where and dealt with the ninjas. I was just about to do the jutsu when my arms went limp at my side, midway doing the first hand sign. I fell down flat on my back, my breathing getting heavier. "Mai!" They called rushing over to me, Sasuke was first to reach me. "I-I'm fine, there's p-poison on their weapons and I g-got hit" I tried to keep my eyes open, "Sasuke I need you to do the Tiger,Boar and Bird sign for me as my hands are numb" Sasuke nodded and quickly started to put my hands in the signs, I concentrated all my energy to putting the chakra in my hands. "Now put—(deep breath)  my finger on my (another deep breath) cheek with the cut" he obliged and put it on. "Medical Jutsu" I whispered as my hands glowed green. I felt my body get better as I saw the poison slowly coming out of my cheek.

"Whoa!" Naruto and Sakura said as I almost had all the poison out. "I didn't know you knew medical Jutsu Mai" Kakashi sensei said as he looked at me weirdly. "Y-yeah I try to learn as much as I can, I like to learn all different things too" I said my hands stopped glowing and the poison dropped on the floor. "Although I do need a bandage for the cut, and Naruto has been hit by the poison as well. "Can't you do what you did before Mai?" Sakura asked. "No, sadly I haven't practiced on someone else" I said trying to move my still numb arms.
