Sasukes little rose

Chapter 15

I was finally able to open my eyes and when I did I noticed Sasuke was beside me. "Gomen Sasuke" I croaked out. He shook his head and touched my forehead with his finger, like Itachi used to. I frowned, "Kakashi said you passed out from chakra exhaustion. What have you been doing?" Sasuke asked as he helped me sit up. "I made a new jutsu Sasuke" I smiled brightly at him and got up slowly as to not loose balance. "Is it powerful?" He smirked at me, "no but it's useful to this land" I said pushing him in the shoulder. "Where is everyone?" I asked fixing up my hair and ninja attire. "You know it's midnight" I stopped and looking outside, frowning when I see lightning from a distance. "Great, how long was I asleep for?" I said sitting back down onto the makeshift bed.

"All day" he said laying on his bed not far beside me. "Why were you awake?" I asked again, if it was midnight Why was he awake? "You we're releasing a lot of chakra so Kakashi said to keep an eye on you" I looked down, how embarrassing. A boom of thunder came causing me to yelp and jump up. Sasuke chuckled "still afraid of thunder huh?" I huffed and looked away only to yelp and jump as another boom came.

~ Flashback ~

"Ni-san!" I yelled jolting up from the nightmare. I ran out the room calling for my brothers, the nightmare was where I watched my brothers kill everyone around us and each other. I ran to the patio and there Itachi was, soaked. He looked at me worriedly before asking "what's wrong Mai?" Itachi said rubbing my hair, ruffling it up. "I had a nightmare, Ni-San. Y-you and Sasuke were going to kill each other" I cried out hugging into him not caring if he was wet or not. "It's alright my little rose, your brother and I do care for each other" he said leaning down and poking my forehead.

I blushed and pushed his hand away "why do you do that Ni-SAN?" I asked rubbing the spot on my forehead. He chuckled before taking his ninja sandals off and his coat "Are you hungry Mai?" Itachi asked as he went into the kitchen me following right behind him. "Hai, where's Sasuke?" I asked sitting down at the table, jumping when another boom came. This caused Itachi to chuckle and finish cooking whatever he's cooking. "NI-san it smells burnt" I said blocking my nose from the smell, "I just put it on rose, no way could it be burnt" Itachi said trying to look calm. The flames erupted from the once a substance called food. I screamed as the flames were huge, Itachi somehow got it put out in time.

"This is why mother cooks" he mumbled before continuing "how about this Mai, I treat you out for dinner?" I jumped in excitement. "Can we get some Ramen?!" I yelled as I ran to my bedroom and getting changed from my panda pyjamas. I changed into my 'ninja attire' wanting to be like Itachi. I hopped downstairs and saw Itachi already changed, he looked up at me and chuckled before fixing his straps. I sat down beside him and did my straps as well.

Another boom came but it was louder this time, I shrieked an jumped into Itachi. "Come on Mai, it's just thunder. I will always protect you" he hugged me.

~ Flashback End ~

"Good morning" Sakura yawned as she walked into the kitchen. I smiled at her "Sleep in a little huh?" She blushed and nodded. I looked at the spare two seats, "Where's Naruto and Sasuke?" I asked before realising. "They're off training still" Kakashi said taking a sip of his tea, I giggled when his pinky finger was up. I quickly got up and went to go looking for them.

"Where are those idiots" I asked looking at the trees where they were training yesterday. A Kunai came down to my feet to see Naruto upside down. "High enough for ya?!" Naruto yelled just as his foot let go from the branch. I was just about to jump when he reattached him self to the next one down. "You baka" I said cant believe I actually fell for it. "Come down Naruto before you actually will get hurt" Kakashi said just as his foot let go and this time, Naruto panicked.

'He's not joking' I thought as I jumped into the tree grabbing his foot while someone grabbed mine. I looked back wondering who caught me and smiled when it was Sasuke. "You Baka, Naruto. Mai could've gotten hurt" Sasuke said and pulled us up.

"You are now all ready to guard tazuna tomorrow" Kakashi said as Naruto passed out. I grunted as he fell on top of me, I felt heat rise to my cheeks as his face was super close to mine. "H-Help" I begged wanting him off as he was heavy. Sasuke quickly pulled him off and his face landed in dirt. We all laughed as Sasuke helped me up, we then both picked up Naruto and started walking back to the house.
