Chapter 5

We finally made it back to the abandoned compound, not wanting to move away from our home.  "I'll go grab some extra gear Sasuke, I'll meet you at our training grounds" I said while running up to my room which was right across from his. "Hn" was all he said while grabbing something from the fridge. I then went to my weapons cupboard, grabbing my fan, senbon needles, katana, extra Kunai and shurikens as well as my Bo. I changed quickly into a fresh set of my ninja attire, glad that I brought multiple sets of them. I folded the dirty clothes and put them at the door ready for washing. I then put my long black hair into a ponytail, hoping to keep it out of the way.

I went down the stairs to see Sasuke waiting, "oh were you waiting long?" I asked knowing my brother isn't the patient type. "No" was all he said as we walked out. "Race you" I yelled before concentrating chakra to my feet and running. I looked back and didn't see him, frowning I slowed down. I went to wait but there was a drop beside me, "did you get scared?" Sasuke asked with the famous smirk of his.

I smirked and said "no I was letting you have a chance" before taking off again. Within a moment, I arrived at our grounds. I spun behind me to find him just landing from the trees. "I win brother" I smirked swirling the Kunai around. "Hn whatever" he said as he set his bag down and got into position. I stood in front of him with my kunai still out, I calmed my breathing and focused on him. He came at me first, throwing shurikens at me. I tried to keep my sharingan not active as I wanted to be strong without it. I closed my eyes and dodged, smirking when I didn't get hit at all. I threw my kunai which of course he easily dodged. I did my required hand signs and murmured "Fire Style FireBall Jutsu" before blowing towards him. I used the fire as a chance to make a shadow clone to stay there while the real me went behind him. He used the same jutsu out doing mine easily, he was always stronger at that jutsu.

My shadow clone got destroyed and he must of realised that it wasn't me while turning around, I pulled a single handed sign and blew softly making a mist like presence. I didn't get a chance to activate it as he did some more signs. "Fire Style fire whip jutsu!" I gasped, I haven't seen this one before. I quickly made another shadow clone and jumped back into the trees. 'He's been training hard' I thought sadly, remembering the nights we both stayed out so late.

"No point in hiding Mai" was all he said before I felt some heat coming my way. I quickly jumped out of a tree but mistook the amount of distance between the trees and the height. I was falling when suddenly caught mid air before landing on another branch. "You should be more careful Mai, I can't always be here saving you" he said smirking at me. I poked my tongue at him before laughing. My image was slowly dispersing as my brother looked around shocked. "Brother seems like I held the jutsu for a long time and you didn't even realise it" I said as I cleared the area around us making it back to the 'real world'. "When did you?" He said as he jumped down the tree. "Well brother, I learnt to activate it without doing signs now" I smirked while he just smiled. "Hn"

"It was actually when I got into position in the beginning, also keen for some taijutsu?" I asked noticing the sun is still up. "Always" was all he said before getting into position. I smiled and got into position. 'I love you brother' was all I though while we trained to our hearts content. Eventually making it home and having a dreamless sleep.
