Lance's POV-
"So, when are we going to meet with the other... Paladins?" I said the last part as a question, because I kind of forgot what we were suppose to be called. Hunk shrugged, and Allura was deep in a phone call.
We arrived back to the states at around 3 A.M., and got back to Allura's place at around 4:30 A.M. They seemed to be extremely tired, but I realized they were as unlikely to sleep as me. I set up a makeshift bed on the couch, but it was about half an hour before Allura finally got off the phone.
"So, I just got off the phone after a quick chat with Lotor and he said they found Pidge. Took them a total of about 2 minutes for her to agree to go. Something about her wanting to explore her powers more. Anyways, all I know is that they have some news they have to show me, which is never good."
She seemed so confident, so leader like, and I knew that no matter what happened, I'd be ready to follow her.
After a bit of talking with Hunk, she decided it was time to go to bed, which in turn cause Hunk to go, and finally left me alone with my thoughts. Which wasn't an option I was fond of since all I could think about was the family I abandoned, on my birthday. I'm a horrible human being.
Deciding enough is enough, I got up and put on my shoes, not even bothering to change out of my pajamas, and left Allura and Hunk a note saying I went out for a walk. Hopefully that'll calm their nerves if they couldn't find me. So I left.
I walked a bit north, toward the end of the street. I probably walked until I found a park with a playground on it. Where there's a playground, there's swings!
I could never explain this to other people, but to me, swings have always been calming. You just sit, swing back and forth, either hard or softly, and could clear your mind. So, I think I automatically tried finding a park, just so I could sit in these swings. Or maybe it was chance, whatever.
As I approached the playground, I could see the bars that would hold swings barely sticking out. As I got closer, I realized there was a boy sitting on one of the two swings.
Before I could even make a decision to either leave or stay, the boy looked up, and his eyes met mine. Even in the dark, I knew the guy was pretty cute. If you liked a dark, emo-ish vibe. I didn't think I was much of an MCR lover, but with a face like swing boy, I could listen to it on repeat forever.
"Who are you?" He asked. Before I told him, I felt it. It got about 10 degrees warmer. Before I could say anything, he spoke again. "And why do you smell like the sea? Did you just come from Galveston or something?" He asked, clearly wanting some answer or any response from me. He was the fire Paladin.
"I'm Lance. And you?" I asked to be polite, but I knew exactly who it was. Keith, Shiro's brother.
"Keith. What are you doing in a playground at 5 A.M.?" He asked.
"Good question, and I will answer that, but I have to go.... home. So, bye!" I said, running away from Keith. He seemed startled by it, and as I was a good distance away, I looked over my shoulder, and he was looking at me too. He had stood up from the swing, and I guess he could see me looking back, because he gave me a small wave and the cutest smile in the world. Dammit.
Again, comment please! You guys are entertaining for me and I appreciate you! Also, I know the book took a while to Klance, but at least I didn't take as long as the show.... *remembers episodes 5 & 6*. Never mind then. <3
