Keith's POV-
I was sitting on the couch with my brother Shiro when the phone rang. He got up because he knew it was a hopeless battle of me getting up. After a few moments, he came back into the living room.
"Uh, Keith, I need to go, like, now. I left you money in case of an emergency and you know my number," he said as he was putting on his shoes. Running shoes, he must be in a hurry.
"Oh brother dear, are you by any chance going to go see... Allura?" I asked, with a smirk on my face. He froze for a second, but I know I was right.
"Yes, and it's for a.... project she, Lotor and I are working on," he said, his voice icy. Ahh, he was salty about working with Lotor, but that didn't make this situation any less funnier.
"Ooo, damn that must sting. Two guys battling out for one girl. Sounds straight out of a cheesy romance movie. Straight people are hilarious," I said. He didn't say anything after that, but I could've sworn he said under his breath something about being too gay for my own good.
So here I am, alone, watching my favorite gay ice skating show, when I decided to go outside and build a small campfire. I was in the mood for s'mores. As I had the fire at a nice size for me, I went inside to get the supplies. Took me a bit to find out s'mores forks, but it was going to be all worth it.
As I was going outside, I felt a chill. Then the phone rang. As I went to pick it up, the lights flickered. Strange, I thought.
"Hel-"
"Keith!" It was Allura, but she sounded alarmed. "Wh-wh, y-you d-d-do, s-s-sta-y-y aw-away from f-" and the line went dead. I couldn't understand much of what she said because it was breaking up, but I think she said stay away from something, but I don't know what.
As I decided the best thing to do was stay inside until Shiro came back, I remembered the fire. I battled in my head whether I should stay inside or put out the fire, but realized it was unsafe to leave the fire unattended. Putting out the fire wouldn't be so bad, right?
I walked out, and grabbed the mop bucket and filled it with the hose. What I didn't notice was that a fiery twig fell from the main fire, and set the dry grass aflame. By the time I turned around, the fire was spreading, bad. As I tried calling 911, it was as if the fire was blocking my path, I tried running towards the fence gate, but the fire also for in the way.
As I ran past the campfire, I realized there was a glow in it, besides the fires glow I mean. Then the flames surrounded me, encasing me inside with only the bonfire. As the smoke was making me dizzy, I did a stupid thing, I put my hands in the fire and grabbed the orb. I felt the burning pain from the flames, and then all I saw was red.
When I woke up, I looked around, and realized one of many things. One, my hands were fine, not a burn or scratch on them. Two, the whole yard was fine, it looked as if no fire happened. Even the bonfire was out. The only way you would've thought a fire even occurred here was the state of my clothes.
But the thing that I found most noticeable was the repeating of one single word: Voltron.
Hey, two updates in one day. I am on a ROLL.
