Lance's POV-
*One week later*
"Thank you for enchanting the rings for me. Now I just need Hunk and I'll be able to give it to Lotor," Allura said to me. She'd been dying for us to make the rings, but she knew obtaining our rings had drained us immensely, so she gave us a week to recuperate.
The rings she brought were for Lotor, and Pidge's brother Matt, who Pidge has been trying to sneak out and communicate with all week. Allura finally caved in and allowed us to make a ring for him, since that was what was safest for Pidge and the team.
The rings weren't anything fancy. They just looked like plain silver bands, with multicolored stone in the center. Allura said that once the rings have been infused with all four elements, the stone will become the color of the person they're there to see. And if it's everyone, it will turn white, and if it's no one, it's black.
"It's no problem Allura, really. I honestly just want to start planning so we can get this over with. The sooner we're done here, the sooner I can go home," I said to her. She nodded in understanding, and swiftly left my room, looking for any signs of Hunk.
Once she exited, I pulled out my neckless from under my pillow, and ran my fingers over the inscription. It's become a habit of mine the past few days to look at it when I wake up. It reminded me of what I was fighting for.
"Paladins, it's time to start training. Meet me in the training room in 10 minutes. And wear your uniform," I heard Shiro's voice over the intercoms. He had also been taking it easy on us, doing only one lesson by ourselves for the past week. My day training with him was pretty laid back.
I had entered the training room after a few minutes of getting lost in the hallways. The castle finally took pity and lit up the path for me, which I found both awesome and embarrassing.
The first thing I noticed was that the training room was huge. High ceilings, and a wide space which I later found out could be made bigger depending on what is needed for us, taking form of any biome we want.
Then I noticed Shiro. He was standing in the middle of the room, with a similar training suit on as me, but black instead of the light blue I had on. Another difference was the way he looked in it compared to me. Seeing him in it just confirmed how bi I really was, with the way his muscles made the suit look oh so good. He gave me a nod and a smile.
"Hey Lance, how have you been?" He asked me. I looked back up to him, trying to play off how I was obviously checking him out, giving him a tired smile.
"Not easy. I've been filled with homesickness, and still kinda tired. But I've been talking to Blue and keeping myself occupied," I told him. He gave me an understanding nod.
"Yeah, I've also been talking to Blue. It's more strategy talk than talk-talk, but they're pretty alright. Not as harsh as Yellow, and I am certainly confused how Hunk will bond with his element. Anyways, since Allura told me to take it easy on you all, I'm just going to see how well your element reacts to you and see what we need to work on. Got it?" He asked me, and I nodded, since I really couldn't refuse.
"Where's the water?" I asked. He gave me an "Oh-right" look and cleared his throat.
"Room, PT: Water," he said. I had no idea what PT meant, but it didn't stop me from feeling the vibration from the floor. It was as if it was coming alive, and I've never felt anything like it. But after a few seconds, a pond appeared, about the side of a pool. Beside it another hole, about the same size, also appeared. It was pretty obvious what I had to do.
"Sooo, I'm guessing I have to move all the water from that hole to the other?" I asked him. He nodded. "You do know I can form a whip with water, right?" He nodded again. "I could show you how I fight with it."
"Just, humor me. Try getting all the water from one pond to the next," he said, gesturing to the pond. I gave him a look, but just shrugged, and proceeded to do what Shiro instructed.
I started with my arms on the left bottom side of my body, to where the water filled pond was, and moved it to the side and up into the other hole. This moved the water into a somewhat steady stream between the two holes, and I proceeded to move my hands in a gesture similar to if I was pulling rope. As the last drop went into the hole, I turned to Shiro, expecting to see an impressed look.
But when I did, I just came back to a quizzically thinking one. I thought I did good, but I must've done something to mark interest in Shiro. Finally, coming to a conclusion, he gave me my report.
"You have a good enough control over it, and you can keep it into a somewhat solid form. But now, I want you to try lifting it all up at the same time, and move it from one side to the next," he said. I nodded, pleased a bit that he seemed to acknowledge some of my accomplishments.
So I did what he said. But this time, I put my hands to the center bottom of my body, and lifted my arms. It was very straining, and I was able to lift it up a couple of feet, but when I tried moving it to the next pond, I lost control and spilled it all over the floor. I felt my face flush with embarrassment, but Shiro didn't seem fazed.
"Welp, I know what we have to work on. You have to learn how to keep it together, and once you can do that with ease, all you'll have to focus on is lifting and moving. Our next session will be a whole group, and I want to see you go one-on-one with each other, see how you defend and attack," he said to me. I nodded, and he dismissed me, but not before telling me that his rooms always open, and if he needed anything, he was there. Nice dude.
I met up with Hunk and Pidge along the way, but they seemed engrossed in a conversation about the advance technology the castle had. I understood none of what they were speaking of, but decided showing up by myself was too lame, so I continued to follow them.
Once we got to the training room (and I didn't get lost this time), I saw that Shiro and Keith were already there. Shiro looked as great as ever in his suit, and I gave myself a few seconds to bask in the glory that was his biceps, and moved on to Keith, who made me stop in my tracks.
Keith did not compare to the god like physique that Shiro had, but he did look very good in his suit. And although Keith through it was a good idea to have a mullet, when he put it up, it just made me go into a bi crisis. As I finally snapped out of it, I decided to look back to Shiro, which, although didn't help my crisis, I've had time to take him in before.
"Okay team, in the past week, I've had the chance to talk and view each of you individually and how well you work with your element. Now, it's time to train in defense and attack, and you'll be doing that by attacking each other," he said. He proceeded to explain that we'd be assign a roll, either to attack or defend. In the end, if the attacker had yet to take down the defender, they've failed, and vice versa.
"Everyone will have a chance to attack or defend, and everyone will go against each element. As you may have learned from our training, the Galrans have weapons, but they have certain people who have power similar to Allura's, and they're working on making mutations who have some hold on the elements, but you'll be prepared. So, let's begin, because this will be a hard war."
Hiiiiiii..... Sorry it's been so long. I'm out of my writers block, thankfully, and I have motivation now. I actually forgot the password to my account recently, but I've got it and I'm ready to give you the Klance we all deserved but didn't get from Season 8. See you all very soon, and you should read the first chapter of my other fic! Hope you enjoy it
