Shiro's POV
The rest of the team decided to disband after practice, but that we'd meet up again for lunch at around noontime. I was one of the first to arrive, so I set up the table as I waited for them all to get here. That's when I heard the familiar whoosh sound, and prepared for the arrival of the new guests.
Then I remembered that one of these new guests was Pidge's brother, and started panicking. I started grabbing the 4 new place settings, and couldn't decided if I was still smelly from training. But before I would do anything about it, I heard Pidge's voice in the hall, along with Hunk and Keith's.
"Hey guys, I'm back and I've brought my dear old brother with me!" She was introducing them to him. I heard a chorus of welcome's and hello's, and the door opened to reveal Lance.
"Hey-o Shir- why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" He asked, stopping in his tracks when he saw me. I gave him a flat look, and put his arms up in surrender.
"It's nothing. I'm just nervous for the new dynamic now with the new guests and all," I said while the door opened and I froze, and realized it was only Keith and Hunk that came in. Lance gave me another look and a laugh.
"Huh, just nervous for that?" He said. Keith looked between the both of us, and figured out what was happening. His shit eating grin was more annoying than Lance's.
"Oh, you're nervous to meet Pidge's cute brother?" He said, teasing me just like the annoying younger brother he was. Lance looked between Keith and me, and realized he wasn't wrong.
"Dude, I thought you had that crush on Allura?" He said. I shrugged, and sat down in frustration. He was right.
"I did. Or at least, I thought I did. It's complicated. Sure she's amazing, but I've been after her for so long, it's just a struggle that's not worth ruining my relationship with her or Lotor. And after Adam, I just thought it was better to not. But I met Matt, and it's honestly a superficial thing at the moment, and probably die down after I get to know him and stuff," I explained. That got a nod from everyone in understanding, and that's when the door opened.
"Oh hey, it's Shiro. You've met Shiro, so calm down," she told Matt. He gave her a look, and came over to shake my hand and gave me a smile.
"Hey, it's good to see you again. I was just telling Pidge," cue dirty look towards her direction," that I was nervous about all these new people, and that's when we came in here and she saw you sitting there.
"Anyways, I heard it's lunch time?" This cued everyone to sit down and start eating the sandwiches the castle had prepared as a quick lunch, and everyone mingled and talk among each other. Pidge sat at one end of the table next to her brother. Keith sat in between Lance and Hunk, and I sat next to Hunk and Pidge.
Since I sat in mostly silence besides the few sentences I'd say between conversations, I could pick up small snippets of conversation between everyone, and at one point I heard Lance say to Keith if he really though Matt was cute or not. Jealousy, thy name is Lance.
"And maybe after this, you can give me a tour of the castle, Pidge," Matt started saying, looking at her. Before she could answer, Lance did.
"Oh, actually Pidgeon, I need your tech expertise with something I'm working on, and if you could help me, that'd be great. And I'm sure Shiro can give him the tour that he needs. They do already know each other and all," he said, looking between Matt and I. I could see the mischief between him and Keith, and oh boy, he's lucky my brother likes him.
"Hmm, as long as that's okay with both of them, it shouldn't be a problem, right guys?" Keith said, with the most innocent smile I've ever seen. Little shit.
"I'm fine if you are, Shiro," Matt said, looking at me, which marked everyone's eyes on me. I gave in, and nodded.
"Well, if Hunk and Keith want to join us that wou-" Lance started.
"Actually, Hunk and I have some business to attend to, right Hunk?" Keith said. Hunk nodded, and they both cleaned up their spot and exited the room, with Lance looking suspicious at the two of them. I'd feel sorry for him, but it felt like karma as well as I knowing what's going on.
"Well, I guess that's also our cue to leave, right Lance?" She said. He nodded, and they cleaned up and left just like Hunk and Keith. That left an awkward tension between Matt and I, so I said the only think I could.
"You wanna see me water bend?" I said. He gave me a smile and nodded enthusiastically, and I took his wrist and lead him to the training room. I took my time getting there, as well as not letting go of his wrist until we arrived. And he didn't pull away. I didn't let myself think too much about that last part.
Hello my dudes, it's me. This is short just because it's basically a filler of sorts for now, but I swear it'll get interesting. My boii Keith is planning something, so just you wait.
