Lance's POV-

I did not expect this boy to change my life Blue, I thought to my element.

Well, he isn't very ordinary, is he?

I had to agree. Everyone had finished infusing their element into the ring, including me. Hunk's process was pretty similar to Keith's, with him using his element around him to absorb it into the ring.

Pidge had to go outside with the earth and ended up having to bury the ring and touch the ground to infuse it. They then unburied it and handed it to me.

I actually stood in the pool Allura had and put the ring in the center. After a bit of my persuasion, the ring sucked in the water, absorbing it until the pool was empty. What was different was that, unlike the other time I used water, it didn't hurt my body, but it still made me feel exhausted.

It's because you used your mind muscles instead of your body muscles. Different muscles are in play here, honey.

I nodded to myself, which must have looked weird but at this point I was too tired to care. The other Paladins seemed to be tired as well, but from the look on Allura's face, I could tell we weren't allowed
to rest just yet.

"So Shiro, I want you to put on the ring. It said in Coran's journal that we all hold hands, and we will all just think of being transported to the castle. My apologies Lotor, but you will not be able to accompany us past this point until I bring you a ring from the castle," Allura said. He just nodded and went to give her a hug. It lasted a few seconds longer, and as I looked over at everyone else because I felt awkward, I could see the jealousy radiating off of Shiro. Poor dude.

When they finally pulled away, I realized the only person with a ring was Shiro. Well, I didn't just realize it, but I connected what she said to Lotor to our amount of rings per person ratio.

"Wait, how are we going to be allowed up there without a ring?" I asked.

"Well, your element will protect you until you get your ring, and my magic will protect me until I get my ring. So we'll all be safe," she said. I nodded, a bit reassured about going into a castle in the sky. Okay, I wasn't really but I didn't have any other choice but to be reassured.

We then got into our positions, forming a circle. We clasped hands, and closed our eyes. I didn't even have time to look at who's hands I was holding, but at the moment all I could think about was this castle, and how it would be my new home until this war that I didn't know existed until a few hours ago concluded.

That's when I felt it. It was a warm, comforting feeling. The feeling I felt whenever I went on a swim on the beaches of Cuba. It felt like home. Before I could think more about my home and how much I missed it, I felt the warmth leave my body. It was like a warm blanket being taken off of me.

When I opened my eyes, I came to realize two things. One, how anticlimactic the room was. It was just an empty room, with the only thing decorating the walls being 4 lit up rectangles, one on each of the four walls. Each were decorated with what I presumed to be our assigned element color.

The second, was that I realized who I was holding hands with. On one side was Pidge, with their tiny hand, but more importantly, on the other side, Keith. I looked down at our hands, and I looked up at him. He was already staring at me, with a small smile on his face that suited him well. As I held the gaze for a second too gay, I realized everyone else had already let go of each other, so I did the same with Keith.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, but also on how much I missed and longed for his touch again. Made me feel like I did when I was being transported to the castle. I had also noticed Pidge was looking at us with a small smirk, but I decided to ignore it. I decided to investigate the only wall that was glowing brighter than the others: The blue one.
