Ch. 9- A little Dilemma

Lance's POV-

   It was around 6 when I got back to the house, and both Allura and Hunk were up, and they looked pissed.

   "What, WERE YOU THINKING?!?" Allura yelled at me. Startled, I jumped away from her.

   "W-what?" I asked.

   "Allura has been worried about you, and your sudden... disappearing act," Hulk explained, a bit calmer than Allura but also distressed by me going out.

"Oh, sorry. I just couldn't sleep, and I needed a walk, and I couldn't walk to the beach," that's when I started talking quicker.

   "And I found a park with some swings to clear my mind and I kept thinking about me being a complete asshole about leaving my family and ON MY BIRTHDAY nonetheless," and faster.

   "And I met this boy named Keith but I knew he was the fire Paladin cause the temperature got like, 10 degrees warmer near him and he said that I smell like the ocean to him," Hunk nodded in agreement to this.

   "And I ran away from him the moment I found out who he was. So yeah," I summed up. Allura looked shocked, but Hunk was deep in thought. He then patted me on the shoulder.

   "Well, that was a fun story. How about I make you some pancakes or something while Allura goes to pick up Lotor and Shiro from the airport. It'll give everyone a time to cool down, and I can get in my comfort zone and make food. Okay? Okay. So go, now," that last part was directed at Allura who seemed shocked by his sudden leadershipness.

   So I went to lay down on the couch, and ended up finally passing out from exhaustion. I woke up a few hours later with the smell of pancakes and the ringing from a phone.

   I looked up and realized the room was very much more crowded since the last time I was awake. I looked around the room, and realized our 3 new players. A man with a white streak at the front of his face, a guy with completely white, almost to his waist, hair, and a 15 year-ish girl with rounded glasses and short hair.

I learned quickly that the white streak boy was Shiro, white hair was Lotor, and the new girl was Katie. As I was about to get up to introduce myself, Shiro answered his phone.

"Hey Keith, what's u-" and Shiro went still. He looked mad, but also looked very worried. "I'll be right there!" He said as he hung up his phone.

"Shiro! What's wrong with Keith?" I asked. I may not have known him for long, but we had a nice chat, and I wouldn't want something to happen to one of my teammates. But, according to Allura, he now held one of the deadliest powers of the universe, and I had a bad feeling about that phone call.

"He said someone's parked outside the house, and when he went upstairs because he felt unsafe, 2 more cars showed up. He then said they where about to knock on the door. I have to go Allura," he said, trying to find his shoes. I looked around, trying to find some assurance from someone, but they all looked as confused and worried as I felt.

Lotor's POV-

Oh father, what have you done now, I thought. Just when I thought I could live a normal life, and I found a normal girl I really liked as well, who I thought I could escape all this madness with, life just throws a hard ball at me.

First, turns out the "normal" girl I found that I liked is daughter of Alfor, my dad's best friend who became his enemy. Then my dad sensed the power of the Paladins again, so he's about to kill Keith, my best friend/rival's brother. And to top it all off, I had to go on a trip with said best friend.

As I approached the house, I hid behind the tree about 3 houses down and observed the people. As I suspected, they had the signature Galra Empire emblem on the back of their hands. And they're small, usually the sign of a lieutenant. They did that so whenever they saluted, they held the Galra Empire above everything else. Generals usually have that, but then get a mark on their neck with the sign of their quadrant. They were also all burned into your skin, marking you as part of the Galra army forever.

I had all, and one extra. One on my chest, with a picture of a crown and a date burned underneath. April 5th, 2019. It was April 27th, 2018 today, less than a year away. We use to have this Witch that worked for my father who could see the future, and he saw that I would become king on that day. But seeing how I'm helping the enemy, I doubt that's going to occur.

I was able to pass off my marks as tattoos to Allura when she questioned me, and she reluctantly agreed. But if they ever see those guys and their marks, they will realize who I am. So I cannot let anything happen to Keith. And I also cannot let him see those marks.

I then realized they hadn't covered the back yet, and I realized who their commander was: Sendak. He had a metal arm because he lost it on some mission. I always thought he cut his own arm off to get that metal arm and become more powerful. What a piece of shit.

   As I decided to go through the back, I realized the the back door was unlocked. I'm surprised Shiro and Keith didn't get robbed more often. I went in and locked the door behind me, and ran upstairs.

   "Keith?" I whispered. He opened his door slowly, and beckoned me inside. He looked terrified, but there was still some of that defiance in them that Keith always had that showed he was always ready for a fight.

   "Who are they? And what do they want with me? And don't say you don't know. I've seen their tattoos, or burn marks or whatever. You're one of them. So explain, now," Keith demanded. Shit, I knew something like this would occur. I tried my best to explain I was one of them at some point, but now I'm an outcast for choosing to not fulfill my destiny as king.

   "So, I'm helping Allura, my father's enemy's daughter, so I can prove I'm different, good. But for now, can we keep this secret to ourselves? Please?" I practically begged him. Finally, he (reluctantly) agreed, under the condition that I'd tell Allura and Shiro.

   "What's the plan? How are we getting out of here?" Keith asked me. I tried strategizing our very limited escape routes, until I realized: Keith was the fire Paladin. He has immense power and potential he doesn't know about,

   "Well, here's something else you don't know..." and I explained, in brief details of course, considering we had limited time, about the last few days. Shiro's gonna kill me.
