Chapter Four: Paper Mache Bombs

As we made our way to training ground b, I could properly take a look at the others' hero uniforms. Bakuhan*'s one was very fitting of him with his grenade styled shell around his wrists that I suspected stored access nitroglycerin from his sweat seeing as the way his quirk works is similar to mine. I also spotted a pin that appeared detachable that was probably the trigger. Todoroki's one was pretty cool, pun intended, seeing as half his body was encased in ice. Meanwhile Midori-kun's one was a little too obvious. From the ears that looked like All Might's hair to the face guard that mimicked his signature smile, he must really like All Might.

I walked up to Momo, what she told me to call her, and her rather revealing outfit. She explained that the more skin she exposed, the bigger items she could create which I guess was the flaw of her rather powerful quirk.

"All right! Now that we are here-" As soon as All Might appeared, he began being bombarded by a barage of questions. "Oh- er- AHEM! I WILL NOW ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS!" And just like that he introduced what we would be doing. Two pairs, one as heroes and the other as villains would enter the building. The villains tasked with protecting a bomb while the heroes were to capture the bomb or both villains by either catching both villains with capture tape or by touching the bomb.

To be honest after the risk of expulsion from Aizawa yesterday, this seemed to pale in comparison and by the wry smiles from my classmates it was safe to say they felt the same way.

And so our pairs were formed, I was in team B with Todoroki. We were going against Hagakure and Ojiro but I was more interested in the fight before ours. Team A versus team D. Midoriya and Bakugou were going head to head and would no doubt go after each other.

As we were ushered into the observation room, I quickly pulled an intense looking Bakugou towards me by the strap of his top, speaking before he could yell at me. "Don't be reckless, you blow him up and your chances as a hero go with him, I trust you know this." He glared me dead in the eye and I stared back, releasing his shirt, I thumped a fist on his chest and gave a small 'good luck' before walking off to catch up with the rest.

I could see Midoriya give me a weird look and I just gave him a thumbs up, the boy was smart, he has the chance to win this.

The room was dim, lit mostly by the giant screens mounted on the front wall of the area. Each showed different locations including the weapon and the entrance where Midoriya and Ochaco were. I could see Lida and Bakugou as they passed through the corridors, appearing from one monitor to another. I could see their mouths moving but from the awkward angles I could only make out a few words like 'deku', 'quirk' and 'nerd', I was getting a little irritated and so I placed a small earpiece in my ear, letting it tap into the same wireless signal All Might's earpiece was using, sending the audio my way.

It was soft but I could finally tell what they were arguing about. Midoriya being quirkless. I hummed in interest and noticed my partner looking a tad bit puzzled, even with his stone cold exterior. guestured for him to come towards me, popping an extra earpiece in his ear. He was about to speak when I placed a finger on my lips before tapping my ear. He got the message and stayed silent, eyes widening slightly when he heard the two of them talking.

Eventually the exercise started as Midori-chan and Ochaco enetered the building. They didnt make it far before Bakugou ambushed them, coming at them with explosions going off on his palms. Midoriya pushes Ochaco out of the way and half of his mask is blown off in the process. Bakugou prepares to attack again, but Midoriya intercepts him, grabbing his right arm and throwing him onto the ground.

I could hear Midoriya's strained voice. "I've been studying your movements since we were young, I knew you would usually start with a large swing with your right hand!" 'Hmm~ useful information~' "I wrote down everything I studied about people in my notebook, the same one you blew up and threw away!" I could see Bakugou's face flush in anger as the veins in his neck threatened to pop at how much they were bulging out from his skin.

The blonde threw Midoriya off him, the latter jumping back before continuing. "My Deku isn't always going to mean useless! My Deku means I can do it!" This made Bakugou flare, if looks could kill, well, you get the point.

I could make out the slightest humming sound in the background, sounding like an extremely soft voice. "Shut up" Bakugou growled before pulling what I assumed to be an earpiece out of his ear and tossing it to the floor. I ignored All Might's explanation about each pair having earpieces to contact each other and focused on the fight. I could see Ochaco's brown mop flash across screens as she searched for the weapon room after having slipped away from the fight earlier on.

Bakugou lunged again, this time his blow being dodged by the green haired boy who retreats and hurriedly runs down the halls for a safe corner.

"DeeeEKUUU!!!!" He snarled. "WAS IT FUN TRICKING ME ALL THOSE YEARS, HUH?! WHY HAVENT YOU USED YOUR QUIRK YET!? YOU HOLDING BACK ON ME?! HAAH?!" He spat, voice so full of hate and malice I shrunk back slightly, Todoroki also seemed a little taken aback.

I glanced over at the bomb room. Ochaco had reached the room where the Nuclear Core is with Lida guarding it. She hid behind a pillar to stay hidden and was probably waiting for Midoriya. However, Lida manages to spot her after she gives away her location when she giggled from Lida's villain performance, You which I have to admit I snickered at too, no shame. Lida waved a hand around the room proudly before saying that he had prepared for Ochaco's arrival and gave the floor a thorough cleaning, preventing her from using her quirk, effectively trapping her. I whistled softly in slight amazement at Lida's attention to detail.

I looked back to the main action, Midoriya was now cornered by Bakugou. "Why won't you use your quirk, HUH, DEKU?! YOU LOOKING DOWN ON ME YOU NERD?!" After saying that he raised a fist towards Midoriya, finger around the pin in his grenade bracer. My eyes widened. "This isn't good..." I clentched my teeth as Todoroki looked at me questioningly. "His grenade cufflets, if they do what I think they do, Midoriya might not make it out in one piece." The dual haired boy just stared at the screen, eyes wide.
