Chapter Sixteen: Calvary!

Well, I'm sure glad I didn't get first place. A million points would definitely send the whole arena after me.

Still I formed a good team.

Todoroki had a plan to win and he roped in me, Lida and Kaminari. Although to be honest I was the one who suggested for Tenya to be our booster, he seemed to not have a team and honestly his engine legs would make us much quicker.

Originally, Todoroki was going to be at the top of our 'horse' but he seemed to think for a bit before asking me to be the rider. So Todoroki was the front, Kaminari on the side and Lida was the engine at the back.

I wore the headband and in a few moments, the whistle blew, signaling the start of the battle.

"We should avoid Midoriya for now." Todoroki muttered as we headed silently behind Hagakure's team. I hummed in reply, softly adding. "It would be suicide."

I swiftly loosened the knot of the headband and gently lifted it off Hagakure's head. Slipping it around my neck as we crept away. They didn't notice a thing.

We continued taking headbands off and racking up the points. We inverted the sashes to block the point value for each headband. Pretty sneaky but technically, it broke no rules.

We crept up behind another team. I spotted a male, Rin was it?

Anyways, we decided to speed things up and Kaminari zapped them while Todoroki froze them to the floor, leaving me to smatch their headband easily. Two at once, score.

A shout caught my attention and I saw Bakugou angry with a 1B guy who took his headband. We were heading to Midoriya who was unaware of out presence while I watched the scene play out.

The blonde guy managed to contact Bakugou and immediately Bakugou had a taste of his own medicine. An explosion to the face. I had to stiffle a laugh. But interesting, someone who can copy other quirks.

However, as we were about to creep up on Midoriya, Bakugou's team stampeded over and soon we were trying to corner the team.

So, long story short, we managed to get the million point headband and we won. Bakugou's team in second and Midoriya in third, pretty impressive. But there was that purple haired guy. He really made my hair stand on ends. Something was up with him, he was almost invisible throughout the battle and yet they score forth place.

Not to mention, our class' tail boy was in his team? To my knowledge, no on in the class even knew him until he stood out by declaring war on 1A. Not to mention, almost immediately, tailboy and another member of purple guy's calvary team quit after not remembering anything that happened in the battle.

Pretty weird but it seemed like my suspicions were on point, he did have some sort of mind manipulation quirk.

Anyways, because of that two of the 1B students who got fifth place in the calvary battle were reentered into the running for the top spot. Monoma, that copy quirk guy who seemed pretty interesting and some vine-haired girl.

First up was Midorima and purple dude, his name was announced to be Shinsou. This would be interesting. I was going up against Tokoyami a few brackets later so I wasn't to worried about wasting time.

The first thing Shinsou did was provoke Midoriya and he seemed pretty good at it too, maybe even as good as me, nah~ Anyways, whatever he wanted, he seemed to get it as Midoriya retorted at one of his activating questions and as though in a trance, Midoriya shot up straight, eyes hazy and turned away from his opponent, walking towards the boundary line at Shinsou's say so.

So, mind control it was, but I guess only if the person responded to what he said or something along those lines.

Still, something seemed off, barely an inch from the boundary line, Midoriya stopped, he flinched a bit as though battling with the mind control. Even Shinsou seemed distraught, guess it never happened before.

Finally, as the internal battle was won, Midoriya walked back towards Shinsou who was now clearly realizing he was done for. He began to rant and shout at Midoriya but to no avail, alas, he was thrown out of the boundary with Midoriya as the victor.

He looked angry, frustrated and sad. Taking into account what he said I guess he had good reason to be. With a quirk like his he would've probably been dubbed the villain in his old schools, maybe even bullied for it. Thinking about it that way his actions made some sense.

Yet, contrary to what he seemed to think, as he returned to the general studies' section, he received applause. Praise like 'hero of general studies' and 'awesome' flooded the arena. He seemed really happy.

Well, next up was Todoroki and Sero. No doubt he would put up a fight but Sero would probably loose entirely. So, I went to get a drink.

I slot in a coin and decided on which drink to choose by pressing both buttons. I got the machine's choice and took a big gulp of the cold liquid.

Heavy footsteps sounded from done the corridor. 'Sounds like a hippo.' I turned and spotted a flame covered, behemoth of a man. 'Endeavor...Close enough.'
