Chapter Five: Fire and Ice

Time seemed to slow as Bakugou pulled on the pin. "If they made this as intended, these grenades should store excess nitroglycerin from my sweat... Which means..." Both me and Todoroki turned to each other as my suspicion was proven true.

”All Might! You have to stop thi-" before I could finish my sentence, the screen flashed white, the floor shook as an ear rupturing explosion ripped through the air.

As the screen cleared and the ground halted its movements, All Might screamed into his mic. "Young Midoriya! Young Bakugou! Are you alright!?" No response. The screen finally settled and we could see a singed but rather alive looking Midoriya on the floor, Bakugou standing above him with a maniacal smile on. "Amazing, the more sweat in these the bigger the explosion..." His grin grew wider. 'That crazy son of a bitch...'

"All Might sensei, you have to call this match off!" Momo yelled. The blonde hero looked troubled so I decided to help him out, more favors for him to pay me back later anyways~ "No, as much as I worry for Midoriya's well being this is a fight that needs a good conclusion. If it doesn't end here, the grudge they hold could lead to something much worse." I massaged my temples, staring the teacher dead in the eye, he got the message. "Besides~ Bakugou never hit Midoriya straight on, he missed, on purpose." I smirked a little both at Bakugou heeding my warning and at the class's shocked expression.

"Young Bakugou! If you use that trick again you will be automatically forfeited!" I could hear the red eyed boy click his tongue. "You are risking the stability of your own villain stronghold which is currently housing a nuclear bomb!" The boy growled a word of acknowledgement before lunging at a green haired boy who had just gotten on his feet. 'He's not using his right hand, he's being cautious now...'

He swung his fist forward but as Midoriya attempted to fight back, Bakugou released a blast from his hand that projected him upwards as he used another explosion to propelled himself at Midoriya from behind, landing a solid hit. "Seems like Bakugou's no idiot after all..."

Todoroki narrowed his eyes in what I guessed to be thought. "You wouldn't see him as the clever type by looking at him, but those were some subtle motor skills."

I nodded, a small grin playing on my lips. "Landing a strong blow while resisting inertia requires him to be able to finetune his explosions' force." I added on to his sentence. 'Todoroki was a recommended student for a reason I guess.'

The fight reached its climax with Bakugou leaping forward as he went to punch Midoriya, the green haired boy matching his throw with his veins glowing, he was using his quirk. "Seeing as how damaged Midoriya gets when he uses his quirk, it seems Bakugou has driven him into a corner." The heterochromic boy beside me nodded. "I wonder what he has up his sleeves..." Todoroki's brow furrowed slightly. I simply chuckled "This'll be fun~"

In a split second, Midoriya aimed his arm upwards, blocking Bakugou's explosive hit while sending a gust of wind pressure up into the ceiling, breaking floors above him and breaking through the floor of the bomb room.

In that split second of opportunity, Ochaco quickly grabbed a pillar, making both herself and it weightless as she sweeped the rubble that blocked her way and launched herself at the bomb, successfully capturing it.

And with that, the first team's round was over. Midoriya was rushed to Recovery Girl and now it was time for me and candycane here to flaunt our stuff. We were against Invisigirl and Tailboy. Us being the heroes while they were the villains.

As we waited outside the new building, I spoke up to the silent boy. "I'm guessing you're gonna freeze the whole building?" I leaned back against the side rail, lazily grinning at the male. He nodded and I huffed. "Thought so~ Lemme handle the bomb then." He seemed to hesitate but ended up nodding again. The buzzer then sounded, we walked into the building. I lit a small fire circle around myself. "Go nuts." No more words were uttered as his fingers brushed the walls of the building, frost slicking the walls as they spread out of sight, covering everything in a translucent blue hue.

When he lifted his hand from the wall, I hummed and pat the boy on the back. "You did loads tough guy, leave the rest to me~" I lit up the bottom of my boots which melted the ice on the ground and allowed me to skate quickly over it. I sclaed the stairs, pulling myself up and swinging over the railings to speed up, jumping off as I reached the top of the stairs that led to the bomb room. Ojiro was there, his tail up defensively as he stood before the bomb, rooted to his spot by the ice on his skin.

"You can fight me but I wouldn't recommend it, unless your fine with dancing on ice without the skin of your feet~" he seemed conflicted as I strode past him. However, the voice of another saying 'are you really willing to risk it?' made his tail drop to the floor. I grinned in disbelief back at the boy, "how did you even make it here so fast~?" I mused as I rested a hand on the bomb. "Captured~" I poked the paper mache bomb slightly, a small chuckle escaping my lips as Todoroki began to unfreeze the building. "I'll get downstairs~" I waved and slid down the stair rails that were coated in a slippery ice, making me go faster than normal.

I ran from the stairwell, hand brushing the wall as I went, a small fire wave building as I passed, melting the ice and evaporating it instantly. A few more steps and I threw my arm forward, the wall of fire evaporating the remainder of the ice.

As we left the building and returned to the observation room, Todoroki pulled me aside. "What exactly is your quirk? Your father is Elemental, a pro hero isn't he?" I gave a grin at his deduction. "What, you checking out your competition? My old man might be tied with yours but I can assure I'll keep my cards up my sleeve to win against you~" he frowned "just kidding~ its basically the same as Tougo's" His brows furrowed again. I smoothed them our with a finger. "Keep doing that and you'll get wrinkles~" I snickered. "Is Tougo your father?" I could help but bite back a grimace, flashing as grim smile. "Legally and genetically yeah sure." I flashed another grin through gritted teeth.

The male chewed on the inside of his cheek as the albino walked away. 'bitter...'
