"Do you really have to go tonight?" Jay asked as she watched her dad pile his things in the back of his patrol car, "What if you just went tomorrow morning?"
"Pumpkin." Dexter hushed. His hands cupped her flushed face, "I will be one call away, anything happens you call me or Butch understand?"
Jay looked to her feet, "Yes daddy."
Dexter smiled, pecking a kiss on her forehead as he stroked her hair. "You'll always be my little girl."
Jay forced a smile, "I know." Dexter smiled as he let out a sigh and headed for his patrol car. He slid into the driver's seat and started the car, "I left money on the counter and we have that account at the pharmacy so there shouldn't be any trouble, if there is just call me!"
Jay nodded as she held her elbows close to her body, "Okay dad." Dexter waved as he slowly reversed out of the drive way and into the street.
Before Jay could even raise her hand to wave back, he was already down the street. Jay sighed as she headed back inside. "I guess I'm alone again." She mumbled as she leaned against the counter of the kitchen. The sun was descending into the horizon as the rays cast a purple hue into the sky.
Jay stood there until there was no light, just darkness. She couldn't see the purple anymore and night slowly increased across the sky. Jay tore her eyes away from the sky and walked into the living room, turning on the tableside light.
The remote gripped in her hand as she slithered onto the couch. Jay adjusted herself into a comfortable position as she watched late night television. The words from the television suddenly started to fade and the light beaming from the TV became black.
Jay snapped her eyelids open and let out a frustrated huff as she walked into the kitchen and pulled out a pan from the cupboard. She flipped on the burner and placed the pan on the metal stove.
Taking out the butter and eggs, Jay set down the ingredients and rested her elbows against the granite counter. She sighed as her fingers entangled themselves into her forest of hair. "Fuck." Jay sighed as pivited her feet and rested her back against the counter. As she tipped her head back, she let out a small moan as her back popped satisfyingly.
A sudden thud cause Jay to snap her head upwards and smash her forehead against the bottom of the cupboard. "Shit!" Jay shouted as she clutched her head. She glanced to the hallway entrance to see her white, blue eyed cat. "You blind bastard, where's your brother?"
Castor chirped as Jay scratched behind his ear. She smiled as her forehead slowly started to regain its feeling. "Are you hungry? Is that why you came to see me?" Jay asked. Castor purred and grazed his body on the corner of the wall.
"Go get your brother and I'll get you some food." Jay walked to the pantry, taking out two tins of cat food.
"Can I get some too?"
Jay gasped as she dropped the plastic tins to the ground. "Told you I would surprise you." Patrick smiled as she held Jay's cat in his arms. "Patrick, give me him. Now."
"I don't think you're in the position to make orders right now missy." He sauntered closer to her. Jay balanced on her feet as she slowly held out her hands, "Patrick please."
"Because you begged.." Patrick rolled his eyes as he handed her the black cat. Jay clutched onto the cats fur dearly and kissed his head. "What the fuck are you doing in my house?" Licking his teeth, Patrick strolled to Jay, placing his hands on either side of the counter as he encased Jay, "I just wanted to see my little girl."
"Don't call me that." Jay snapped. Patrick chuckled, "What's wrong baby what did I do."
Jay scoffed, "You did everything. You terrorized my friends, you held me hostage in my own home, you sexually assaulted me and you just broke into my house." Patrick nodded, "Okay you have a point-"
