The group quickly rushed up the stairs of Henry's porch, Patrick gripping Jay's hand hard, making sure not to let her get away. Jay looked around the front yard as Henry pulled his keys out of his pocket.
"Who else is here." Jay looked up to Patrick. Patrick looked to Jay and then the yellow beetle parked in the front yard, "Guess you'll have to find out, kitten."
Jay let out a breath as Henry pushed open the door, Belch and Victor filing in behind him as Patrick wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her in. "Why are we here?" Jay asked once she stepped inside the house.
The smell of alcohol and shaving gel filled the air as the boys walked deeper into the house. "Henry's having a little get together tonight so we wanted you to come." Belch replied as he glanced over his shoulder.
Jay's grip on Patrick's hand slowly tightened as the group walked into Henry's room. "Calm down, doll, there's nothing to be afraid of." Patrick reassured her as his wide grin plastered across his face.
Belch and Victor flopped onto Henry's bed as Patrick detached himself from Jay and slipped into Henry's desk chair. The four boys all looked at Jay as she stood in front of the door, her arms crossed over her chest.
"What the fuck is this?" Jay asked as she tapped her foot against the rotted wood. The boys glanced to each other and all snickered. "Just our little get together." Henry smirked.
"First of all, I have things I need to be doing I don't have time for this little orgy you guys scheduled. Second, I thought you hated me!" Jay pointed to Henry. Henry glanced to Patrick and back to Jay, "I don't hate you as much as I did before but there's still that black hole where my respect for you was."
The boys all laughed as Jay rolled her eyes, "Can I at least sit somewhere?"
Patrick nodded, "Yeah, right here."
Jay watched as he pointed his lap and smirked. "I'll stand." The group remained in silence, all staring at the ceiling or out the window. Suddenly the sound of footsteps against the wood slowly got closer. Jay turned towards the door and saw Verminta standing in the hallway.
"Hey guys." She waved. "Hey girl!" Verminta exclaimed as she gave Jay a quick hug. "Hey." Jay forced a smile.
The girls seperated and Veraminta rushed over to Henry. She smashed her face with his as they both kissed each other passionately. Jay looked away uncomfortably as her eyes connected with Patrick, a sly grin wide across his face.
"I'm going to get some food." Belch spoke as he stood from Henry's bed. "I'll come with you." Jay added as she followed Belch through the hallway into the kitchen.
"Whatcha craving?" Belch asked as opened the fridge. "Um any fruit in there?" Jay asked as she sat at the bar. Belch peered over the door of the refrigerator to Jay, "You seriously want fruit? You don't want a beer or something?"
"I don't drink." Jay responded, resting her head on her hands. "Damn, your life must be boring." Belch replied as he dipped his head back into the fridge. Jay rolled her eyes as she looked around the kitchen. Holes in the cabinets and walls were prominent as well as cracks in the ceiling.
"Uh, we've got an apple, an onion--"
"That's not a fruit." Jay chuckled as she dangled her feet off of the chair. Belch glanced towards her and continued his search through the shelves of food.
"Molded watermelon and what looks to be some mangos.."
Jay perked her ears up and walked to the fridge, "I'll take the mangos." Belch opened the ice box and handed her two mangos as he snatched a beer.
"You just drink for fun?" Jay asked as she laid the cutting board on the counter. "Yeah, I mean my dad sort of got me into the taste of alcohol. I'm not an alcoholic if that's what your implying." Belch popped open the tab of the can and took a swig of it.
"No, I'm not saying that but I do think that if you continue down this path of drinking you'll end up an alcoholic." Jay replied as she sliced into the mango down the middle.
"What about you." Belch spoke. Jay turned her head over her shoulder, "What do you mean?"
Belch perched on the edge of the counter as he set down his can, "I mean, what's your story. Patrick obviously thinks that you're so amazing. What's so interesting about you?"
"I don't know what he sees in me." Jay mumbled softly as she swiped the mango into a green bowl.
"Well, you two are a- unique- couple." Belch chuckled. "Oh, we're not a couple. I guess the feeling of having someone want me is satisfying again."
Jay pierced the yellow fruit with her fork and took a bite. "Nothing is interesting about me."
"I can't disagree more."
Jay glanced over her shoulder to Patrick leaning against the stove across from her. "How long have you been standing there?"
"Long enough."
"Where's Belch?"
"With the gang."
"Well we better join them." Jay mumbled as she locked her eyes on the floor, pushing past Patrick. "Mm, how about you stop changing the subject, kitten." Patrick pulled her back into him as he looked down to her.
"What subject were we on?" Jay asked setting the bowl on the counter as she held her elbows to her body.
"You like it when I want you." Patrick stated as he closed in on the girl. "I-I never said that." Jay struggled as she felt the counter press against her back.
"You said you felt satisfied when someone wants you," Patrick quoted, "Do you feel satisfied right now?"
Jay didn't answer. She looked up to his eyes as they peered into hers. "Because I really want you, right here, right now. On this counter."
Jay felt her breath hitch in her throat. "I want to kiss every square inch of your body." Patrick smirked as he pressed his lips against hers. Jay's eyes grew wide as Patrick gripped her waist and pulled her closer to him.
She hesitated for a moment before closing her eyes and melting into the kiss. She hadn't kissed anyone like Patrick before, she felt needed again but she couldn't just put herself on display because he asked nicely.
"Patrick." Jay pulled away. "I can't."
"Why not?" He asked. His face was missing his typical grin but instead displayed hurt.
"You know how bad I want to. I just... I don't know how to let people in." Jay replied as she pushed her hair out of her face.
"Just give me some time." Jay pleaded. "Please."
Patrick tore his eyes from the tile floor to Jay as he nodded slowly. "Thank you." Jay whispered.
She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head in the crook of his neck. She felt his arms tightly hold her in place. His breath tickling the side of her neck as the two stood in each other's arms.
"You mean more to me than you think." Jay whispered. She felt him nod against her shoulder as she fluttered her eyes shut.
