"Um, thanks but I think I'll stick here. I wouldn't want to just ditch Elise." I say not wanting to offend him.
Sure, I love Yoongi's music and he seems like a sweet guy but I came here with these guys and I barely know him.
I can see a small look of disappointment on Yoongi's face as he looks between Jimin and I but shrugs it off. "Your call. See you around." He says and walks away with his laptop under his arm.
I watch him as he leaves, he glances back at us before leaving.
Jimin smiles brightly. "Hah, you must really like me." He says and leans his head against mine.
He's pretty cocky, huh?
"Hey, so how about we give these two some privacy and walk on the pier? We can go on some rides." He suggests.
"Um, yeah okay." I shrug.
Instantly Jimin takes my hand and pulls us out of our seats. "Later guys!" Jimin calls and drags me out of the Diner.
I look back to Elise who's waving me farewell with a bright grin.
Hand in hand, Jimin and I walk down the street with the Pier in view. "It looks prettier at night, with all the lights on," I say thoughtlessly.
"I guess we'll be staying out late then." He smiles childishly. I roll my eyes but internally feel butterflies in my stomach.
We reach the pier and walk into the small building that is filled with arcade games. Without a word, Jimin puts a pound into a basketball machine and starts playing. I watch as he scores and misses on and off.
"C'mon you're supposed to be helping." He laughs and hands me a small basketball. I chuck it into the net and it goes in. Wait, am I good at this? Jimin cheers me on and hands me another one. I chuck it but miss. Nope, nevermind. "Don't give up yet Aalya." He says and carries on throwing them. I end up joining in and helping.
The timer runs out and we end up with an okay score so the machine gives us twenty tickets. Jimin pockets them then takes my hand again. I don't know why I let him treat me so familiarly but it's somehow comforting.
"Let's go on a proper ride outside." He pulls me along and out of the arcade. Soon as we step outside my eyes fall on quite a large crowd of people, some being people from school still in their uniform much like myself. I take in a few long breathes to keep myself calm. Busy environments aren't my thing.
"How about we go on that big spinny thing," I say and point to a large spinning ride. Jimin scrunches his nose.
"Let's move our way up. How about this?" He says and gestures to the spinning teacups. I chuckle thinking he's joking but see him waking over to them.
"Whoa, wait really?" I ask and rush to catch up with him. He pays for our seats and I watch him get into a pink one. "Jimin... you're joking."
"Hey, you said my name! I like how you say it." He says and I sigh. I get in the teacup and shut the little door. The ride starts and I'm surprised by the speed, I'd expected a children's ride. Jimin starts to spin the table in the middle of the teacup spinning us faster. The pace makes me slip into Jimin making our shoulders clash and we both laugh.
We go on some more rides and the sky becomes darker as the sun sets. As time goes on, I find myself being the one to reach for Jimin's hand and I hold onto him during fast rides. We dizzily get off a ride and suddenly the rides light up. My eyes brighten and I look around at the dazzling lights.
"Jimin, did you see it all turn on?!" I gleam but Jimin doesn't answer, "Did you see Jimin?" I ask again but when I look to him I find him already staring at me.
"Yeah, I saw the reflection in your eyes." He smiles. I laugh and playfully push him.
"You cringe," I say but feel the heat in my cheeks. Jimin smiles at me but his eyes drift behind me.
"Hey, you know what we've missed?" He asks. I turn around and my eyes survey up the big wheel.
"Kind of cliche, don't you think?" I say but when I turn around I find that Jimin is no longer there. I spin around looking for him and see him already at the ticket desk, paying for our seats on the Ferris Wheel. I rush up to him and hold his arm. "Jimin, I don't want to go on it," I say seriously but he thanks the man he paid and gets in his seat, patting the empty space beside him. I shake my head.
"C'mon it's romantic." He grins. I shake my head again and cross my arms. I look up at the wheel and feel my shoulders get tense. "I really don't want to..." I say and an amused smile grows on his lips. "Are you afraid of heights?" He asks and gets out of his seat.
"Are you guys getting on it or not?" The guy at the desk says irritated.
"No, I'm leaving," I reply but Jimin grabs my hand and drags me over to the seat. I struggle the whole way but he's stronger than me. "Jimin, no. I'm serious. I'm going to hit you." I threaten. He laughs as he gets me in my seat and pulls the bar in front of us. Before I can escape, the ride starts to turn so we're going up slowly. I squeal and shut my eyes.
"Are you actually that scared?" He asks surprised.
"I told you no to those other high rides but you didn't question it because you didn't want to go too fast anyway," I say not looking. I feel his arm go around me as if protecting me. His grip is tight and somehow helping. "I'm not looking till I'm on the ground," I say but feel us stop. I peek my eyes open and see we are at the peak point of the Ferris Wheel. I take in a shocked breath and cover my face. "WHY ARE WE UP HERE?! ARE WE STUCK?!" I panic.
"No, no no. He's probably letting other people get off at the bottom." Jimin holds onto me, putting his other hand on my knee. I lean into him frightened. "I know you're scared but open your eyes." He says but I shake my head refusing. "You can see all the pretty lights, you love them don't you?" He asks but I don't respond. Jimin gently takes my hands away from my face and I peek out at the setting. My eyes are greeted with glowing lights, each one adding to the aesthetic picture of a fair. As we are on the pier, the water reflects the lights, giving the illusion there are more underwater. I hold onto Jimin's thigh tightly, still afraid.
"It's really pretty but I still hate you," I say and Jimin chuckles.
"But you're not scared anymore right?" He asks but I feel like my body language would make it obvious that I want to escape.
"Terrified." I breathe the words. The pretty scenery has my attention but the burning heat of Jimin's skin on mine is always in the back of my head.
"I can distract you if it helps." He says. I look at him and see once again he's already gazing right back at me. Suddenly he leans in and locks our lips. He pulls me closer to him and I happily comply. He softly breaks the kiss. "Distracted?" He asks with a cocky smile.
"A little." I bite my lip. Suddenly the wheel starts to move again and I hold onto Jimin.
"C'mere." He holds my chin and makes me look at him and connects our lips again and all my fear disappears. Our lips move in perfect unison, always seeming to know what each other will do like a silent connection.
I peek to my side and see we are nearing the bottom and my body relaxes. "Don't get too excited." He says and I raise my eyebrow at him. "We still have another round to go." My eyes widen and see that we are in fact going past the docking station and going right back up again.
A/N: Was that awful? I hope not. It took me a while to actually come around to writing these ones but I didn't want to post another story before finishing this.
