*Namjoon's POV*
Yoongi's eyebrows furrow slightly as he reads the lyrics I've written. He pitches his lips together before speaking.
"So who's this about?" He asks me looking up from the paper. I hesitate before responding and rub my finger over my bottom lip.
"What do you mean? It doesn't have to be about someone specific." I say casually. He looks down at the paper again.
"But it is. This is pretty serious and has a lot of emotion. Unless you wrote this after reading a romance novel then there is a specific girl you miss." Yoongi confirms. I take the lyrics sheets back and fold them.
"Yeah, okay. It's about a girl I used to know but we haven't seen each other in years." I say not really wanting to talk about it.
"Well, what made you start thinking about her?" Yoongi asks interestedly.
I pause in thought, questioning if I should be honest.
"I never stopped thinking about her."
Yoongi looks at me with empathy. "Tell me about her." He says and sits down.
I scrunch my nose slightly and look to the door behind me, questioning if I should just say no. "I don't know. It's kind of a long story." I explain.
"Well, she's clearly important to you so I want to know. C'mon, sit." Yoongi says gesturing the seat across from him. I sigh and sit down, rolling the paper into a tight scroll. "What's her name?" He asks. My jaw clenches before I say it, I haven't said it in so long.
"Evelyn but everyone called her Eve except for her parents," I reply.
"How'd you meet?" Yoongi asks and rests his leg over the other.
"Well, the first time we properly met was at school but turns out we'd met as babies. Our parents were friends but we just hadn't come around to meet till we were 12."
*Flashback*
I do up my blazer buttons before heading to the sports hall. They are doing tryouts for different sports groups and I agreed to cheer on my friend.
I reach the door but see a girl standing hesitantly at its threshold. I wait a moment for her just to enter but she doesn't. Just as I go to ask to pass, she turns around and almost walks into me. I jump back slightly and her eyes widen when she sees me.
"Oh, sorry." She says and goes to walk away.
"Hey, wait," I call out and she turns to face me.
She's slightly tanned and is not wearing her uniform correctly. She's not wearing her blazer and her sleeves are rolled up. Her ribbon isn't around her neck and I can see black, sports shorts poking out from her school skirt.
"Why aren't you going in?" I ask. I'm not sure why I'm bothering to ask but she seems frustrated.
She frowns, seeming mad at my question. Before she answers, her eyes move to the door behind me. She lets out an exhausted breath and relaxes her shoulders. "I wanted to sign up for the track team but all the people on the team are boys."
"So?" I ask, unsure why that matters. "It's for boys and girls to join."
"They'll make fun of me and they're probably better at it than me." She says and puts her hand over her hair. Her hair is tied back into a messy ponytail, there are so many strands falling out I don't know why she even bothered to put it up.
