Hanging with the girls

We were packing up when Georgia got a phone call from Justin. She left to take it outside, and I continue packing up my stuff.

Dad walked up to me, "Kami?"

"Yeah, dad?"

"Next week, a new employee is starting, and I want you to show the person around the office and get them settled," dad told me.

"Is the person replacing Heath?" I asked him.

"Yes."

"Okay."

"Thanks, princess," dad smiled as he went back to his office.

I was glad someone new was replacing Heath. The guy needed to go; not only was he rude, but he was lazy. I may be disorganized, but I work. That guy couldn't get his head out of his ass long enough to do his job. I don't know how many times he tried to hit on me or say inappropriate comments.

Hey, I warned Heath. He didn't listen, so he got a knee to the junk, and then I told dad what happened. Dad immediately terminated Heath.

Why is it when you're single, guys feel it's fair game to say or do whatever? I will never understand that mentality.

I finished packing up and grabbed my stuff, walking out to meet Georgia. She finished up her phone call, and we walked to the car.

"What did Justin want?" I questioned.

"He called to tell me he's taking me out tomorrow night and to see if you had agreed to meet his friend."

"Please tell me that you told Justin I said no?" I asked.

"Well," Georgia hesitated.

"Georgia!"

"Kami, meet the guy. You will like him. Trust me; he isn't like most guys," she said.

"Doubt it," I shrugged as we got into the car and made our way home.

Nothing is worse than people setting you up on a blind date. First, the guy can be a creeper or worst, annoying. Trust me, I know. People tried and ultimately failed at setting me up.

As I said, it usually ends after the first date.

We pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car, making our way into the apartment. I went into my bedroom and changed into something comfy, then decided to clean up a bit.

*********
"Knock, knock! Anyone home?" I heard Zoe yell.

"If our door is unlocked, what do you think?" Georgia yelled back. I giggled.

"Cute," Zoe answered.

I came out of my bedroom to see Georgia, Zoe, and Avie talking.

"I see someone made it out of Mount Trashmore, aka Kami's room," Avie said.

"You mean the black hole?" Zoe asked Avie.

"Hmm, mmm."

I rolled my eyes.

"It's not that bad," I shrugged.

"Bad? Girl, you are a disorganized mess even at school," Avie said to me. I gave her a look.

Yes, the four of us roomed at college together. While they were neat, I wasn't. Mom and dads couldn't figure it out because they kept things tidy. Daddy Ben said that the gene must have skipped me.

"Okay, so I'm not organized," I told them as they laughed.

Georgia ordered a pizza while we all sat in the living room and talked.
