Once we signed the paperwork, we were proud new owners of a house and a mortgage. Yay.
Scott had a security system installed in Georgia and our house. He wanted us to feel secure. Dom wanted out of my parent's home, so he didn't have to listen to my parents doing unholy things. I couldn't blame him because neither did I.
We met the moving company in the apartment and quickly packed everything up. Everyone helped so that we could get done faster. Once we packed everything and loaded the truck, we headed to the new house.
Dad also talked to the landlord of the apartment and explained what was going on with us. Because I didn't feel safe, I could get out of my lease with no charge - what a mess.
After arriving, we all unloaded items and carried things into the house. The movers brought in the furniture, and I couldn't wait until we finished. Moving is exhausting. It was the fourth time I had moved in my life and the last.
We got everything done in record time. Now all I had left to do is unpack. That would wait for another day. I wanted to relax.
Everyone left, and Dom and I collapsed on the couch.
"That has got to be by far the fastest I ever moved," he said as I giggled.
"It helps when you have a lot of family and friends to help you," I said to him.
"Mom offered to keep Mikayla until we finished moving. I figure tomorrow we will take her to the park so that she can play, then come home and unpack.
"Sounds good to me."
"Hungry?"
"Yep."
"I'll order a pizza," he said, pulling out his phone. I nodded as he placed an order. Looking around, I couldn't believe we were here. Never in a million years would I have thought we would be here, but we were, and I couldn't be happier.
Once the pizza arrived, we dug in and ate. I was starving.
"Damn, you can eat," he said as I polished off my fourth slice.
"The perks of having a fast metabolism," I grinned. Dom chuckled.
"I can't believe we are here. It feels surreal," Dom sighed.
"Well, believe it," I smiled.
"Can I ask you a question, and I want you to be honest with me? How do you feel about kids?"
"Mikayla is great. I adore her," I replied.
"I'm not talking about Mikayla. I mean, would you be willing to have more?" He asked as he looked at the floor before looking at me shyly.
I looked at him as I thought about it. I never thought about kids. I mean first; find a person to have kids with them. Considering my luck with guys was nil. I never gave it much thought.
I could see the look on Dom's face. He was getting anxious, waiting for me to reply.
"Honestly, I never thought about kids," I said truthfully and saw his face drop. "Well, that was until I met you." His head snapped up, and he looked at me a bit confused.
"Considering it never got past the first date, I figured I was going to be one of those women that have a bunch of plants," I told him.
"Plants?"
"I'm allergic to cats," I told him.
"Oh, right?"
"So, you wouldn't mind having kids?" He asked me casually.
