I was deciding what to do today when I heard a knock at the door. Georgia and I answered it see Dom with Mikayla.
"Hey."
"Hey," I said.
"Could you do me a big favor?" He asked me.
"What's up?"
"I have a mandatory meeting at the office today, and usually my mom would watch Mikayla, but she had something to do, and my dad has to be there. I don't have anyone to watch Mikayla. Could you maybe watch her?"
I looked down at Mikayla, who looked up at me with her big eyes then at Georgia.
We looked at Dom, and I said, "Sure."
"Great," he said, handing me her stuff and Mikayla. Then he kissed me and said he would be back in a few hours. Georgia closed the door.
Babysitting should be fun.
*********
From the time Mikayla arrived, she was on the go. Such a busy four-year-old. Between Georgia and I, we chased after her and tried to get her out of things.
At one point, she dropped my phone in the toilet, which I had to fish out. Ew, gross.
Another point she proceeded to get food all over her clothes, so I decided to change her, and she decided to run from me. Ever chase down a four-year-old? No? They're quick.
Our apartment became a war zone. How can a sweet little four years old destroy an apartment in ten seconds flat? How does Dom do it?
Trying to get her to eat was another feat. She clamped her mouth shut when I wanted to feed her. Great, Dom's going to think I'm starving her. I'm failing at this.
He's going to come and pick her up and give me the heave-ho.
It took some time, but she finally fell asleep, and we collapsed on the couch.
"Who knew a four-year-old could be so active?" Georgia said to me.
"All four-year-olds are active," I sighed. "Plus, you didn't see what Mikayla did at the house."
"I heard about the Casper the Friendly Ghost incident," she smirked, causing me to laugh. "Did dad take a vacuum to her?"
"Yep."
"I don't remember being like this."
"That's because we were angels," I said to her, causing her to laugh.
Then we heard a knock at the door. I got up and walked over to open it. Dom walked in and looked around, "I see Mikayla's been busy."
"Just a little."
"I tried calling, but no one answered," he said to me.
"Oh, that's because my phone is in a bag of rice right now. Mikayla thought it would be fun to see if it floated in the toilet."
"Oh."
I looked at him as he looked around and sighed.
"What?"
"I'm sorry about this. I should have warned you; you need to keep a close eye on her. She likes to be busy. If you don't want to continue, I understand," he said as my brows furrowed.
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, I figured you wouldn't want to keep seeing me after today," he shrugged.
"Really? Because I figured you would break up with me because I suck at this," I said to him.
He looked at me and around then said, "Actually, from the looks of it, you did pretty well. Mikayla is like most four-year-olds who like to be busy and get into things."
