I stood in front of Georgia to shield her. It's not one of my smartest moves, but I refuse to let anything happen to her and the baby.
Heath slowly walked towards us. Then he lunged. I ducked and hauled off and hit him defensively, catching him off guard, making him lose his balance.
"Georgia, run!"
Georgia ran from me as he turned, then I kicked him in the stomach. He snapped his head in my direction and yelled as he charged me, waving the knife in the air.
I threw my arms in the air, shielding me. Heath brought the knife down and put a slash in my arm. Blood started forming as I tried to defend myself.
Georgia opened the door to Dom, Justin, and Dad. I grabbed my arm as I felt the warm, thick substance. Then he charged at me as Dom charged at him. We all collided as we tumbled over the edge, but someone caught me.
I looked up to see Dom gripping my arm firmly. I reached and grabbed hold of his arm as Heath had a hold of my leg.
He still had the knife in his hand. I looked at Dom as he nodded. "Kami! Do it!"
I slammed my foot over and over as he connected my leg with the knife. I screamed as Dom held on. I started kicking at him until his grip loosen. Then, with one swift kick, he let go of me and fell to the ground, slamming into it. They are dying immediately upon impact.
"I got you," Dom growled as he pulled me up. He dragged me over the side of the ledge, and I stumbled towards him as he held me.
I looked at him, "You saved me."
"That's what you do when you love someone," Dom said as I smiled before closing my eyes and passing out. "Kami?"
Justin stayed with Georgia as Dad ran over and helped with me. He called 911 as they worked to stop the blood. Dom removed his shirt and tore it into pieces, tying tourniquets around my arm and leg.

Dom's POV
The Police arrived along with an ambulance. There was so much blood. They lifted her onto a stretcher, then they rolled her off the rooftop down the hallway. I followed them as Police spoke to Scott, Georgia, and Justin.
They also wanted Georgia to go to the hospital and checked out too.
We exited the building, and as they loaded her into the back, I climbed in with them. The doors closed, and they rushed her to the hospital. Her pulse was weak from loss of blood, and they needed to get her into surgery as soon as possible.
They pulled up at the emergency entrance as they got out and pulled her out. I followed them as they went into the hospital.
"Baby girl, I'm here. Don't leave me," I said to her as they wheeled her to a set of double doors. As they took her back, they stopped me.
I stood there as I watched them take her back. God, let her be okay.
Thirty minutes later, her parents showed up along with everyone else. They took Georgia back and checked out and make sure the baby was okay. Justin followed suit.
It felt like things were buzzing around me as I stood there. All I wanted to know was if Kami was okay. The only thing we could do is wait.
*******
The wheeled her back and cut off her clothes as they called for platelets and plasma. She needed a blood transfusion because of the loss of blood from the knife wounds. They worked quickly as they intubated her.
Then she crashed.
"She's crashing!"
"Start chest compressions," the doctor ordered. "She needs the OR now!"
A nurse got on top of her and started chest compressions as another bagged her. They wheeled her to the OR as the nurse continued chest compressions on her.
A surgeon prepped for surgery and busted in through the doors. He walked over to them as her heart started beating.
"Let's save a life, shall we," he said as he held out his hand, and they placed a scalpel in it. He made an incision then went to work.
Heath hit a vein in her leg. He worked in repairing the vein, and they kept giving her transfusion after transfusion as another person stitched up her arm.
Once the surgeon could repair the damage Heath did, he closed up the leg.
The surgery took four hours to complete because of her needing several transfusions. The only thing we could do is wait.

I sat there as we expected. I needed to make sure she was okay. I would not leave until I knew, and even then, I wasn't moving.
I called my parents and told them what happened. Mom had Mikayla and told me not to worry. Focus on Kami.
As we waited, a doctor emerged through the double doors. He explained everything that happened and what they did, then told me it's a waiting game if she wakes up. They had moved her to a room, but they hooked her up to a vent.
Lina and Ben went first to see her. I waited for them to see her before going back. I didn't think it was right that I go first, considering I would be the same way with Mikayla.
I waited until they came back out before going back. I followed a nurse as I had my hands in my pants pockets. I felt like it was the longest walk of my life as we made our way down the hallway towards her room.
Once we arrived, the nurse walked away as I stepped inside. She laid in a bed, hooked up to a ventilator.
I walked over to her and reached down, gently picking up her hand into mine. I looked at the machines as they made noises. I leaned over and kissed her forehead.
"Kami, I can't believe this happened. Why?"
Beep.
I pulled a chair over and sat down as I held her hand in mine. "Stay with me, baby girl. Please."
Tears fell from my eyes as I pulled her hand to my cheeks.
Beep.
"Kami, don't leave us. Mikayla needs you. I need you. Please." I pleaded with her.
Beep.
I sat there as I listened to the machines make a noise. Kami's chest moved up and down in an even pattern. I couldn't lose her, because I found her. We would be best friends forever.
I thought back to everything that we had been through together. So much happened in a short amount of time. Most people would think we were crazy for moving so fast, but I don't think so.
When you find that one you're with, it's like you can't breathe without them. It's like that half is missing found and makes you whole again.
I knew that she was that person. Everything about her lit up a room. Her warmth and selfless nature made people love her. It's what made me love her.
I wish it had been me that was lying in that bed - not Kami. She didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve any of this.
As I sat there thinking, that's when it happened.
Beeeeeeeeep!
My head snapped up as people rushed in and pushed me out of her room. I fought to be with her, and they kept me out. God no! Kami! Stay with me! Don't leave me!
I dropped to my knees as they worked on her. My world came crashing down around me. Then I felt a hand on my back. I turned to see Ben standing there and then I broke.
