Chapter 14

I woke up, and looked around. I must have fallen asleep. It was almost sunrise. I could see the sun peak out from behind the trees. There were far away mountains, very far away. I liked mountains. I could always see mountains where I used to live, in HomeValley. There were two big mountains, at least three times the size of the others. "Hi" a young male voice said from behind me. I recognized the voice. It was Snicker.
"Couldn't sleep either?" Snicker sat down beside me, and looked up at the mountains. "How could I?" I asked.
"What about Better, Backstab, Gorgeous and your uncles?" I asked. I still didn't look away from the mountains. They were pretty, and reminded me of home.
"Better and Backstab are fast asleep...Gorgeous and Savage are helping out Wise and Uni, last I checked...And Grim..well..you know..."
Snicker sighed. "How's he doing?" I asked. Snicker didn't answer.

It was silent for a few minutes, before Snicker broke the silence.
"What you looking at?" Snicker asked. "The mountains. They're pretty. It reminds me of HomeValley, my old home" I said.
"Those two mountains are very important, and whatever lies in there, is a secret. Nobody ever tells me what's in there. Maybe I'm just too young...but I'm always wondering about them..." Snicker said.
"Are there clans or packs up there? Does anybody live up there? Is it as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside?" He continued. "I hope I can go up there one day" I smiled.
"Those two have a name too. Sandfast and Morgan. Sandfast is the one on the right, and Morgans on the left" Snicker said. We both looked at the sky, as the sun rose between the mountains. "I'm going to check on my uncle" Snicker stood up.
"I will come too" I followed him to the log. Grim was laying upside down, his wounds won't bleeding anymore, but he was still out. Silver was talking weakly to Sensitive. Snicker stopped beside his uncle. I walked past to Silver. "I'm alright!" Silver growled. "But it's safe to stay here for a couple more days, just in case! Look at you, your not going to be able to walk!" Sensitive cried. Silver had dried blood on the side of his head, and his right hind leg was twisted awkwardly.
"My clan needs me! Whatever that thing is, it's still out there!" Silver argued. "What's the thing" I asked. Sensitive and Silver looked at me. "It's a long story, and I'm not sure if you should hear it. Your too young" Silver sighed. "But-" I started. "Please?"
Silver sighed again. "Cats are too curious for their own good...but if you insist" Silver shrugged.

Everyone in the log, which was at least half of the clan, helped tell the horrific story.

"And that's how it went" they finished.
A chill ran down my spine. "Wh-who was i-it?" I stuttered. "We don't know..." Silver said quietly. "But you can call it whatever you want" he said. "How about Clawpaw?" Red suggested. Clawpaw growled. I hadn't noticed Clawpaw, sitting awake at the end of the log. "How about Red?" Clawpaw growled. "How about Shadow" Savage said. "Or Dark Figure!" Chill said in a trying-to-be-epic tone. "How about it doesn't matter because he's going to die!" Red hissed. "How about, Shadow of the forest" Skylight suggested.
"Or, Dark Terror " Uni said. "Or Shadow Stalker" Clawpaw said.
"Or Forest Shadow" Skylight said.
"Okay, okay let's just take a vote" Gorgeous said. I turned to leave the log. If this goes on any longer, I'm going to be a Dark Terror.

As I walked past Grim, I saw him twitch. Every cat and dog, turned to Grim, including me. We all stared to him. Come on, come on...
Grim's eyes opened, and he sat up. He blinked for a few seconds, before taking in his surrounds. "Grim" Savage growled. Gorgeous sighed, knowing what was coming. Grim tried to growl, but just let out a weak sigh. He just stayed silent now. As if he was excepting that Savage was stronger now. Which he was now.
Savage let out a noise, almost like a slight crooning noise. He cat hugged Grim, making sure not to hurt him. Grim blinked in surprise. "I was so worried about you..." Savage meowed.
"I'm fine little brother" Grim smiled.
"Your still the same worried kitten" Grim chuckled. "I was a kitten just last year" Savage pulled away.
This is so touching...I feel like crying...
Gorgeous smiled, and cat hugged them both. "Mother would be proud of us all" Gorgeous said.
As sad, but touching this is to watch, I think they need some time to be a family again...
I turned and walked out of the log.
I smiled and looked behind me, to see almost everyone leaving the log. The sun was completely up now.

I sat down next to a tree. Sensitive sat beside a nearby tree. She groaned in pain, then took a deep breath to relax herself.
The puppies will die... Wildfires voice echoed in my mind.

I yawned tired. Thanks Wildfire... I can't even sleep anymore. I yawned again, and closed my eyes.
Sleep...

"I will come for you..." A voice echoed through the trees. I turned, and saw a giant, giant Wildfire, with yellow eyes? She stood up, crumbling the sky on her head. The sky suddenly went dark, and the cries of animals shrieked around me. Why? Why must I have these dreams?! Wildfire stood on Sandfast, crumbling it under her paws.
"The world will pay for what they did to me" She growled. "We didn't do anything! Your the cat killer!" I hissed.
"No...you killed us first!" She jumped at me. I hissed in fear. I heard dogs howls erupt through the sky, and Wildfire disappeared.

I jumped up awake, gasping for air. Sensitive howled in pain. Almost the whole clan surrounded her. I stretched and padded to her too. I pushed through the crowd and got to the front. Silver, who was laying down, clearly unable to stand, looked at me. "Aren't you a bit young?" He asked. True... I shrugged and looked at
Backstab, who stood beside me.
"Let's talk, so we can skip the bloody part" he smiled. "Good idea" I said.

A puppy howled softly. We both looked , to see a male and female puppy, the male was about half the size. "So tiny!" Darkpelt screeched. "Not as tiny as kittens, but so tiny!" Darkpelt exclaimed.
The male was a greyish color, like his father, and the female, and the bigger one, was a goldish brown, kind of like a lighter version of Sensitive.
Sensitive licked them both. There were some ews and aws from the crowd. To be honest, I wasn't sure which to pick. But Blackhawk certainty did. He barfed in a nearby bush, then as he made his way back to the crowd, he turned around with another barf.

"What do we call them?" Sensitive asked. "You pick" Silver offered.
"I name the female...Bird" Sensitive said. "But she's not a bird..." Gorgeous said. "I wasn't born in this pack, I only came here at the age of 6-7 months old, so I'm still used to not naming them according to their actions..." Sensitive explained. Gorgeous nodded.
"You name the male" Sensitive said to Silver. "I name him...Blue" Silver said, looking at the males silky greyish blue pelt. I remember when I was the one being named, and had cats crowd me and aaw me!

"Can I touch it!?" Curious barked.
"They're so cute!" Gorgeous exclaimed.
Everyone crowded Sensitive and her pups. "Give her some space!" Silver barked. Everyone stopped.
"Sorry...okay everyone, meet me at the other end of the territory, we have things to do." Gorgeous said in a serious manner. Everyone knew why she needed them there, so our smiled dropped and for the cats, our tails wagged. We all followed Gorgeous to the other end. I looked back at Bird and Blue. They were born at a horrible time... Why now when The Shadow is out there?

"Attention!" Gorgeous said, snapping me out of my thoughts. We were at the other end of the territory, and Gorgeous was standing on a large rock, so even the animals at the back of the crowd could see her.
"I know you all are afraid to go back out there" Gorgeous started in a low voice. The animals nodded.
"But there's a kitten out there; Gentle." Gorgeous continued softly.
"And she is a great kitten, daughter of the great Lillypad and Rox! And she is waiting for us to save her! Who's with me!?" Gorgeous yelled encouragingly.
The clan yelled in agreement.
"Who will come with me to find her!!?" Gorgeous asked.
"Me!" Savage said, stepping forward. Silence walked forward too.
Blackhawk let out a sigh "I'm going to regret this" he walked forward, and stood beside Silence. Stubborn and Curious exchanged a look, then sighed. "We will come " Curious said, as they both walked forward. Darkpelt looked like she was thinking about it. "I've seen that thing, and I never want to see it again...but...I will do what I must for the clan..." Darkpelt sighed, and stepped forwards.

By the time they finished deciding, Gorgeous, Silence, Savage, Blackhawk, sadly me, R, Stubborn, Curious, Darkpelt, Bulk, and Killer were coming.

"But I need to go with them!" Silver barked at Sensitive. "So do I! But we have pups to care for! And you can't walk!" Sensitive growled. Silver growled too. "Fine!"

All the animals who won't going, left, and continued what they were doing.
"Bluewhiskers? Are you sure you want to come?" Gorgeous asked.
I thought about it for a few moments.
"Yes. I'm sure. Your speech was amazing, and made me really want to go" I said, shaking a little.
I'd normally like to run from danger, but now I have to step into it! Just like I did with the dogs! I did that for mom and StripeTail! Now I must to this for Gentle!
