Chapter 19

I wondered what the next letter would be, and why it mattered so much. "A" R finally said. "A? So your name is RA? Or Ra?" I asked confused.
"Call me whatever you want" he said, hopping down a few branches, and curling up into a little black ball.
Ra? What does Ra mean? And he said one of my six secrets...I'm guessing his six secrets are all the letters of his name...a word that's six letters, and starts with Ra....
I thought for hours what it could be, but I never got it.
Ramen? No, that's only five...Rage? No, that's four. Rage? That's four too.
Raven? That's five. Robin? That's five.
Rotten? No, that starts with Ro.
Racer? Starts with five...
Robert? Five. Rice? That's four.
Remy? That's four. Raw? That's three...
Roger? That's five. Raker? That's five...
Rose? Four... Ruins? Five... Ribs? Four...
After hours upon hours, upon hours, I gave up. I decided to just be happy, that R- I mean Ra, just told me one of his six secrets!

A twig snapped down on the ground. I looked down, quickly and quietly.
Please don't be The Shadow, please, please. I silently hoped.
A black German Shepherd dog, that looked around 2 years and 1 month old, came out from the bushes.
Blackhawk? I jumped down from the tree, and landed in front of Blackhawk. "Hey, Blue!" Blackhawk said, happily. "Why are you here Blackhawk?" I asked. "I told them, that if there going to send you away, I'm going with you" Blackhawk said.
"But...you had friends there..." I said.
"I promised your brother I'd look after you" Blackhawk said.
"Yeah...I guess so" I sighed.
Ra jumped down from the tree.
"Who are you dog?" He asked.
"Blackhawk. And your the head patroller R, right?" Blackhawk said in a bored tone. Ra nodded. "That is true. But what are you Doing here?" He asked in a unhappy tone. "The real question is, what are you doing here? Gorgeous think the kittens killed you. Why are you taking so long to come back?" Blackhawk asked.
Ra growled. "The real question, is, what are you doing here"
"I promised BlueWhiskers brother I'd take care of her" Blackhawk sighed.

"The Shadow chased us all here, I couldn't come back. But I did realize, these kittens aren't The Shadow. So if I leave them out here on there own, there going to die" Ra answered Blackhawk's question now.
"What are you saying kitty?" Blackhawk asked. Ra growled loudly. Blackhawk backed away a few steps, to show he didn't mean any harm. "I'm saying, I'm going to find these cats a new home" Ra said through clenched teeth. Bluewhiskers looked shocked at Ra.
He's really going to help us?
I guess, though he's intimidating, scary, angry, powerful, has-sorry had
Claws so sharp they look like they could cut through stone, and eyes that burn holes through the side of your head. Even though he's all of those, he could still be soft on the inside.

Blackhawk shrugged. "Okay. What are we waiting for?" Blackhawk said, ready to get going.
"We can't just go anywhere, we need a plan. We need to watch out for packs and clans." Ra said.
"What clans and packs are in this forest?" I asked. "There's the Horizon clan, Iron kingdom, Peace clan and The Blood pack, in this forest." Ra said. "So which ones good enough for us to go to?" Blackhawk asked.
"Let's cross off the Horizon clan, the Iron pack and the Blood pack. I'd say the only decent one is the Peace clan" Ra said. "What's the Peace clan like?" Gentle asked happily, as the kittens jumped down from the tree.
"Peaceful" Ra said simply.
"Does it have cats and dogs?" Blackhawk asked. "Just cats, but I'm sure they will let a dog in" Ra said, in a bored voice. "Great" Blackhawk said sarcastically. "Well, let's get going" Ra started walking. The sun had just risen, and the sunlight shone down on us. Two pares of hazel eyes, started at me through the bushes. Before fading away in the trees. I kept on alert, and waited to see what kind of misfortune life have waiting for me...

I walked with Gentle, Better, Backstab, Snicker, Flower, Ra, and Blackhawk. We walked for hours, and hours. Thoughts filled my mind.
Who is Ra? What does his name mean? What are the four other letters of his name? I wondered.
And what was that pile of flowers, Flower was going to that time?
Does Flower really have feelings? Does she actually understand? Can she feel, hear and see like we do? Does she remember her family? Does she miss them? I looked at Flower, who Blackhawk held in his mouth. Flower tapped on leaves that dangled down from the trees. Again, she seemed like she wasn't really in this world.
Who is Vamp? Is he really The Shadow? But than, why did he help Gentle? I thought.
Does everyone have dreams like I do? Of giant cats that try to kill you? And there eyes glow yellow, while you can't see the rest of them, through the blackness of night? Why do I dream of giant yellow eyed animals, but when I really saw The Shadow, it was about the size of a young cat...? Were these dreams? Warnings? Signs? Visions?
My mind filled with thoughts.
Why did I feel that way when I saw The Shadow last time? Was it because of fear? Why didn't I feel that way when I saw it at the falls?
I shook my head to get rid of the thoughts. I then heard a chirping sound, coming from the sky.
It was Alex. He landed next to me.
"A message from your family Feathers" Alex said. "Feathers?" I asked. "Yeah...? Oh yes! I forgot, cats say it as 'Whiskers'" Alex shook his head. "And tailless say it as Honey" Alex said. "Honey? Cats have whiskers, birds have feathers, and humans have honey? That doesn't make any sense...are you sure?" I asked. Alex nodded. "One hundred and ten percent sure!" He said.
Suddenly, Alex was tackled, and thrown into the tree. "Alex!" I called.
Better licked her mouth. "Yum! I am starving, and a bird just lands next to us!" Better cheered. "No! Better! He's not for eating!" I hissed. Better cocked her head to the side. "Why not?"
"I need him!" I growled, walking towards Alex to check if he was alright. "Why? He's just a simple bird" Better shrugged. "My family writes messages and he sends them to me. If you kill him, I won't be able to contact them anymore!" I growled, and hoped Alex was alright. He flapped his wings, buy didn't get off the ground.
"Alex? Are you alright?" I asked.
"My wing! I can't fly!" Alex panicked.
"Relax Alex, it can be fixed" I told him. "How? How can it be fixed? Its brocken! I can't fly! What's a bird without his wings? I will die out here! I can't survive as a land-ling! I must be in the sky!" Alex panicked.
"Listen! We can fix you, and you will be up in the air in a minute" I assured Alex. Not that I knew what was wrong with his wing, and how I was going to fix it.

We couldn't find a place to rest, so I dug a den, like the borrow like dens we had back at HomeValley.
"What is this?" Backstab asked.
"Its like a rabbit borrow. Its how the dens are at my old home, HomeValley." I said. "Its...different.... Weird... But good....nobody would be able to find us down here" Backstab said slowly, as he looked around.
"You know how to build your own den?" Ra asked. "Well...yeah" I shrugged. "Cool" Gentle commented.

I lay Alex down on the underground floor. Everyone sat down, and spoke to each other, or took advantage that we stopped, and slept.
"Your wings not that badly injured, Alex. It's just a bad cut, it doesn't go down to the bone" I told Alex, as I checked his wing. "So it will heal on it's own?" Alex asked, worried.
"Well, if you were a cat, yes. But I don't know how fast birds heal" I said.
Alex groaned. "Maybe if you rest, it will be easier for your wing to heal?" I said, unsure. "Alright, take your message" Alex put a thin stone on the floor, in front of me. It had writing carved into it. I read;

Aaaw...I'm so sorry about that Whiskers...but if there's a killer, you should leave the clan. You and Blackhawk, go find a new one. And if the leader suspects you, you should leave for sure. Once your suspected by the leader, you life in the clan will be horrible! Trust me Whiskers.

I put down the stone. If only it were that easy... I thought.
I took out a claw, and wrote on a small rock that had rolled in the den when I was digging it. And I wrote;

Well, I was banished with five other kittens that were suspected. The head patroller took us far from the clan. Blackhawk followed after us, but the killer is still trying to get us, so the head patroller Ra, is going to find us a new clan. Hopefully they will let Blackhawk in though....

I put my claw back in. Ra put his paw on the stone. I was startled the first second. I didn't know he was awake.
He took out a claw, and scratched off the 'a' I had wrote, from 'Ra', so it said 'the head patroller R'. He then walked back to where he was sitting earlier, and lay down. I looked at the stone, where it now said 'R' instead of 'Ra'.
I guess he wants it to stay a secret...
