I opened my eyes, it wasn't too bright underground, but I could tell it was morning. Everyone was sleep-
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, I counted. There was someone missing. Better, Blackhawk, Backstab, Alex, Snicker, Gentle, Ra....where is Flower? I asked myself. I heard the sound of someone walking on top of the underground den. I snuck to the entrance\exit of the den. I jumped out quietly. I looked around.
Flower! I lowered myself to the ground, and hid in the long grass. Flower walked into the trees. Again she seemed like she couldn't see. Like she couldn't hear. Couldn't feel. And couldn't think. But the question here was, where was she going?
Wherever she's going, it must be the same place she had went to when she was missing for three days. And could also be that pile of flowers she had went to that day.
I started to grow suspicious and curious. I started following Flower quietly. If that is where she's going, it could take days to get there.
Then I remembered.
It took three days for us to go from The Horizon Clans old territory, that The Blood Pack took over, to The Horizon Clans new territory, that we ended up leaving not long after.
And the day that Flower had gone missing, she was gone for around six days. Three days there, three days back...but how did she remember the way? How come The Shadow didn't attack her?
I grew more and more curious and suspicious. Maybe she is The Shadow?
I thought. No! Don't think that! She was there when The Shadow attacked!
I fought my thoughts, as I snuck closer to Flower. I jumped into a tree, and followed her from above.
Her dirty grey, once white fur, got wet from the water drops that dripped from the leaves of the trees.
Maybe she works for The Shadow?
Or maybe there's more than one Shadow...? that's how it gets around so fast! Flower kept walking, in a perfectly straight line. Only moving for trees, or rocks that are too big to jump over. But Flower doesn't have yellow eyes...She has brown eyes...
I stopped as I got to the end of the branch I was walking on. I looked down, and saw a small dirty river. It was very shallow. Flower stepped in the water, and it reached half way up her legs. But how would I continue following her if i was at the end of the branch? I looked around for an answer. Then I saw another branch that also went over the water. But I didn't want to risk jumping to that branch, and falling in the dirty and cold water. But unfortunately, life doesn't always go your way. It was my only choice. I backed away as much as I could. Then I took a deep breath, and ran. Once I got to the edge of the branch, I'd jump. But once I got to the edge of the branch, it snapped. I fell into the dirty water with a huge splash, and a painful smack on the rocks underneath the water. I could hear my heart in my head, and my vision started to get stripped away from me. If I was going to faint, I didn't want it to be so far from the others, alone, where The Shadow could be watching, and with my face in the water. I tried to stand up, to at least get my head out of the cold water. If I didn't I'd drown for sure.
I tried to keep my eyes open, but I was just going cross eyed. My legs buckled under my weight, and I fell into the water again. My eyes slowly closed...and there was no air entering my lungs...only water...bubbles appeared over the water as I tried to breath, but the pain in my head was more painful than my breathing.
My eyes closed and all I felt was cold water, for a second....before nothing but black. Nothing....no dreams...no visions...no thoughts... No feelings...no air...just....BLACK.~~~~~
Finally I saw something. It was Mother. I was a newly born kitten again. I could barely see. Barely feel. All I saw was Mother's paws as she carried me. All I felt was her mouth holding me by the scruff. I tried to talk, but I couldn't breath. Bubbles surrounded me, and Mother disappeared. My eyes opened, and I still couldn't breath. I felt the water tickle my lungs. I was surrounded by pitch black darkness. It must have been at least twelve hours since I was following Flower? I looked around, still unable to breath. I felt weak, and my head was still throbbing in pain.
I then noticed someone was holding me, dragging me across the forest floor. Nobody could really carry me properly anymore. I was seven months old. That was three months short of what some cats say is an adult cat. Some say ten months old for a cat, and some say one year. And for dogs, some say one year, some say one year and two months. My eyes finally adjusted to the darkness. I was being dragged fast! I tried to talk but I just choked on the water in my lungs. It started to get bad, and I needed to breath urgently. I was breathing slightly, but not enough to keep me alive for too many more hours.
My limbs started to feel numb. I tried to breath, but the water just went in further. I squirmed around uncontrollably. Black spots started to cover my vision. Suddenly, we stopped. Something heavy slammed my chest, and the water came out. I took a deep breath and coughed repeatedly. My vision started to come back to me, and my eyes adjusted completely, but my vision was slightly blurred. I looked to see a tall pitch black cat, who's eyes shone bright yellow, and his two top fangs poked out from his mouth like a vampire, and he had a line of white fur that went over his nose. I coughed again, before realizing who he was.
"V-Vamp?" I asked weakly.
He didn't answer, just stared down at me with bright yellow eyes, that caused a shiver down my spine. I stood up weakly, but collapsed, and fell the the ground once more. I coughed up more water.
"You are not well...come with me" he offered in an emotionless tone, and a blank face that I couldn't read.
He's trying to kitnap me!
I jumped up and slowly ran the opposite direction. I looked behind me and saw Vamp, who didn't move from his position, just stared at me.
I looked back in front of me.After about five minutes of running, something grayish white caught my eye. It was Flower. I started following her, until we got to a deep river. Flower jumped on a tree, and walked to the other end, before landing back on the floor again. I decided to use the tree as a bridge too. I jumped on the tree, and started walking across. I walked for about ten seconds before a tiny, tiny twig, touched my leg softly. But it stung in pain. It felt like someone had just bit my left hind leg.
I looked and saw a big cut, that started from my paw, and went up to the thigh area. There must have been a sharp rock in the river when I fell into it. My leg stung with pain, but I had to keep walking or I'd loose Flower. I walked to the end of the branch, then heisted, before i jumped. Pain shot up my left hind leg, but I continued walking, with my injured leg being dragged behind me.
I wasn't sure where we were. But I guessed we would stop off to rest soon. Because I mean, what kind of eight month old kitten would be able to walk in a dangerous, pitch black forest for three days straight, with no brakes, no sleeping, no eating, and no drinking....Oh wait....?
