Lea's POV
I exhaled and sat down on the floor. Hinawakan ko ang dalawang tuhod ko bago sumandal sa bed side table at tumingin sa ilalim ng kama. I can hear sniffs and sobbed, that's why I know who's under the bed.
"Hush little Hailey don't you cry,
Mama's gonna sing you a lullaby."ako
I sang and tried to peek again under the bed to see if she already came out but she didn't so I continued singing.
"Hush little Hailey don't say a word,
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird."ako
I bite my lower lip and wiped the tears that dropped on my cheeks.
"And if that mockingbird won't sing-"ako
"Mama's gonna buy Hailey a diamond ring."Hailey
I chuckled when I heard that she finally sang with me. I waited for her to come out at hindi ako nabigo dahil dahan dahan siyang lumabas mula sa ilalim ng kama. I grinned at lumapit sa kanya. I did the indian sit and cupped her face to wipe the traces of her tears on her cheeks.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."ako
I nervously laugh and wiped again my cheeks. She smiled at nag-indian sit din sa harapan ko. She extended her arms to put her palms on my both cheeks.
"Mama doesn't need to say sorry to Hailey, because Hailey's..."Hailey
I raised my brows when she took a bow and sighed.
"Not mad. I'm sorry."Hailey
I forced a smile at hinawakan ang dalawang kamay niya na nasa pisngi ko.
"I know, because when Hailey's not mad then... she's nagtatampo."ako
She looked at me and that made me smile. Those eyes, are Aga's eyes, but hers are innocent.
"I'm not."Hailey
She removed her hands on my cheeks and that made me sigh. I held her chin and made her look up to me. I wasn't able to utter anything first because those sadness in her eyes can give me pain.
"Then... why are you like that?"ako
She exhaled.
"I'm so... bobo."Hailey
My eyes widened when I heard that word from her.
"Wh-where did you learn that?"ako
Her fore head creased. Yeah, I'm teaching her Tagalog but not those kinds of words! Where did she get that?
"I heard that to Mommy Lola before when she got bumped by a lady who's having a practicum here."Hailey
I mentally rolled my eyes when I heard that.
"You're not- hindi ka ganoon, okay? I dont want you to say that word again to yourself or to anyone. Eh 'di ba nga you have photographic memory?"ako
She shook her head.
"It's not just being knowledgeable, Mama. I have lots of questions in my mind but they don't have an answer so I think I'm one."Hailey
My eyes blinked after she said that. I gulped and removed my hand from her chin and avoided her gaze.
"I'm sorry, that's not what I mean."Hailey
I forced a smile and look at her because I know that she meant it.
