Note: There isn't too much to work with with this guy so his personality may be different from what it ends up as in the comic.  Also I don't have a name for him so he's just CHAIRMAN.

~•🎴•~

(Name) was stuck tailing a co-worker of his that he couldn't care less about. He had currently been working for the HNH company for seven years, and he had yet to find so much as one person who he liked, who could actually do their job, and who didn't get fired after a few months. The last person who met those requirements had lasted a whole year and a half before being cut loose. It was unfortunate for both of them as (Name) was alone again, and the other guy lost his source of income.

Thinking of the past didn't help to soften (Name)'s sour mood. If anything thinking about something so nice made it harder on his current co-worker who was told to escort him to the Chairman's office. She could feel (Name)'s death stare grow more intense by the second, as they walked.

Walking a great deal faster than when the two had started (Name) and the woman arrived at their destination. It was the first time in seven years (Name) had gotten to speak with the Chairman in his office. Anytime he had ever spent with his boss had been at company meetings and parties he, and all the employees, were basically forced to attend. (Name) hadn't even spoken with him then, as he preferred to hide away in a shadowy corner for the time it took for everything to be over.  He'd only chime in on meetings if he had to.

His co-worker had taken it upon herself to knock on the door of the office.  She clearly wanted to be rid of (Name), which he could not fault her for since it was only her fourth week on the job and he was probably the worst person to interact with.

When a "come in" called from behind the door the woman opened it, and quickly left. Closing the door behind him as he entered (Name) felt a twinge of nervousness.  His boss was an intimidating man.  He walked over to his desk and asked "You called for me Mr. Chairman?"

"I did.  You have been working for this company for seven years, correct?"

     "Yes.  I have".

"Well, that's why I called you here.  I want to give you a promotion.  I'm asking you to be my secretary".

(Name) sucked in his breath.  "I uhm thank you for the offer, but you do know I'm not doing secretary work now right?  I'm in charge of getting and checking over all the financial reports before you get them".

Smirking at (Name) the chairman replied.  "I know.  That's the reason I'm asking you over anyone else.  You already scan over the paperwork I read, so I thought why not have you become my right hand?  I know you're a capable man, and your antisocial behavior will be more acceptable this way".

At the last comment (Name) felt his face heat up slightly.  "If you're sure I have no problem being your assistant, sir".

The Chairman nodded he was sure, and said "Good.  You can start in four days then.  I'll give you the office next to mine, so you won't be far".

- 4 Days Later -

(Name) had had his new job for five hours and he hated it. There was not a single solitary thing he had to do. Normally a break was nice, but that was when his stupid coworkers would annoy him all day. Now he just ended up playing (mobile app). It was entertaining enough, but (Name) was someone who wanted to work at work.

When his lunch break started (Name) decided to stop by the Chairman's office next door, and see what was up with the lack of a real job.  It felt more like the company had demoted him since he wasn't doing anything.  He knocked and waited for a come in to be said. Hearing the words (Name) quietly went inside the office and closed the door behind him. He could see the Chairman look up and waiting for him to start talking. (Name) had trouble keeping eye contact at first "I was wondering why I haven't gotten any real work to do yet. Is there something wrong?"

The Chairman looked surprised at the end like he had expected (Name) to be content doing nothing.  That wasn't the kind of man he was though.  He could tell (Name) wasn't joking either as he stood in front of his desk waiting for an answer.

"No. Nothing's wrong. I thought you might like not having to do much, but since that's not the case I can give you something. How about getting me coffee and reorganizing that filing cabinet in the corner there? You could probably get it done in a few hours".

(Name) stood in front of his bosses desk and let his eyes bore holes into him. The silence was starting to get too tense. (Name) cocked his head to the side.  "I would, but you know. I'm on my lunch break right now, sir ".  The Chairman sweatdropped at the reply.  "When I get back though I'll do it".

"Or you could have lunch with me," the Chairman offered.

"I'd still have to go get my lunch, sir".

The Chairman tried to smile at (Name)'s deadpan expression.  "Nonsense, I'll take you out for lunch.  We can get to know each other better".

"Sure".  It was at that moment that their rolls seemed to switch.  The Chairman began try to subtly impress his new grumpy assistant.

When the Chairman had offered to take (Name) out to lunch, he took up more than (Name)'s hour lunch break.  He took him to an upper scale restaurant, but nowhere they would feel underdressed.  There were few people around besides the staff.

"This is a pretty fancy place you brought me for just lunch," (Name) said after ordering.  He preferred talking to waiting in silence.  He got a semi nervous "not really" in reply before the conversation died off.  (Name)'s eyebrows furrowed.  He was tiered of this strangeness from his boss.  He was starting to suspect the Chairman might have ulterior motives for promoting him.  He decided to be blunt with his question "Are you gonna tell me the real reason for my "promotion" or not?"

Surprised by the bluntness the Chairman started to sweat more  and look uncomfortable.  Looking into (Name)'s passive eyes didn't help his cause.  "I... well I wanted to see if you would... I mean that I would like to make are relationship more than business.  I figured getting to know you better by making you my secretary would make it easier to ask you about it".

(Name) sat quietly watching the Chairman across from him. He stared straight ahead but his mind wandered as to what such a thing would mean for the future. He was only able to bring himself to speak after a few minutes had passed. "I suppose I wouldn't mind that," it was a hesitant reply, but (Name) continued "you really didn't have to do all this though. I think I would've said yes anyway".

The deep look was alleviated from the Chairman's face. "I'm glad to hear, so perhaps this could be like a first date?"
