"Gun, could you watch (son's name) while I go to my job interview today?" (Name) asked her younger brother.
Not moving from his place on the couch Gun said he would. "Yeah, but are you sure you don't want to work for me? You could have whatever kind of schedule you wanted, and make a shit-ton of money for not much effort. A dream job if you ask me."
Looking over at her brother sweetly (Name) replied with a no. She didn't want to work for him because of the business's sketchy nature and she thought it might cause a rift between the two. She felt they already spent too much time together since she moved in and working together on top of that might strain their relationship too much.
Since Gun agreed she decided to set off early to make a good impression. After collecting her purse (Name) went to kiss the top of (son's name)'s head followed by a kiss to Gun's cheek. "(Name), you've said you are, but are you sure you're okay? It's only been two months since you left him. You've been busying yourself the entire time with finding a job too instead of dealing with your feelings. I'm just worried you might be pushing yourself too hard. I've got enough money to pay for you and (son's name) a hundred times over. You can take a break if you need."
(Name) looked at Gun sadly but sweetly. "You're the best little brother. Did you know that?" She said. "It's been hard but I am fine. I just don't like the feeling of mooching off of you. (Son's name) should know his mother's a good role model and a hard worker if nothing else".
Gun nodded but still gave an exasperated sigh. "Too good for this world (Name), that's what you are. I'll see you when you get home from your interview. Don't let any of those dirt-bags bother you and if they do I'll kick their asses later".
Giving Gun another kiss and patting (son's name) on the head (Name) opened the door and left with a "Will do" to her brother.
~Time Skip: 3 months~
Unable to land a job (Name) reluctantly took up Gun on his offer of one. She was his assistant which, in all reality, meant that she did fuck-all all day because Gun was too controlling. He always wanted to do everything himself, so he basically paid (Name) to sit in a chair either at her own desk of in his office. It didn't please her to have a job where she did nothing but it had the benefit of being able to care for her two year old son. She didn't need to find a sitter and trust that they were a good person, because she could just do it herself without a problem.
It had taken working for Gun a month before things got rocky. The problem wasn't anything (Name) had anticipated. They weren't butting heads from too much time together or at each other's throats. Instead the problem came in the form of a blonder, crazier, and greedier form of her brother. It was Gun's business partner, Joon Goo, that made things tense.
Goo liked to pick fights with her brother for no real reason other than he might have been insane. The fights were always destructive and it worried (Name) to have (son's name) around sometimes. Bringing this up to Gun he promised to keep it under control, but it hardly happened with how enraged Goo would make him.
It left (Name) as it would any concerned mother to have to talk to Goo. At first he was dismissive of her. She was weak and only got the "job" for being Gun's sister in his view, so she meant nothing. It was like that for a while until he realized how overprotective Gun was of his older sister and nephew and he took an interest in both of them.
Goo became a flirt quickly after realizing Gun would attack him almost the second he noticed it. The first time it happened Gun chucked his desk at him. It missed and hit the far wall where it shattered into a million pieces.
It was ridiculous in (Name's) mind, but the two boys kept doing it. Goo would even use Gun's nephew against him. He'd try to get the child to tell his uncle things like "Goo's so cool" or get him to call him Uncle Goo just to piss Gun off.
Talking to (son's name) was a lot harder than talking to (Name) though since he was both two years old, and his mother and uncle kept a close watch over him. The second Goo would speak to him (Name) or Gun would shove the blond away or pick (son's name) up and walk away with him.
Since it was more often than not too difficult to get (son's name) to pay him any attention Goo mainly stuck to talking or flirting with (Name). At fist it was obvious to everyone that he did this just to press Gun's buttons, but as the weeks went by he began to do it even if Gun wasn't around. He found himself falling for the protective mother bear who he had first dismissed.
"(Name)~ has anyone ever told you you shine brighter than the sun?"
"You, evey single day since last month have told me that" (Name) said unimpressed.
"I can't help it that it's true," Goo said "and speaking of it" he let it be drawn-out "I was curious to know if you'd go on a date with me?"
(Name) scowled at him. "And what gave you the balls to ask that? I'm not interested in playing around with you to help you piss off Gun"
Goo's face tinted a light shade of pink. "I uhm... am serious about this," he said almost shyly "I want to go on a date with you. I... genuinely want to know you better"
Taking in his words and turning pink herself (Name) didn't fully trust what she was hearing. Goo wasn't the take a girl out on a nice dinner date type of guy. He slept around and had some eye-candy on him most days he had off from work. Her guard was up, but she decided to give him a chance. He wouldn't have blushed like he was even if he was acting. Goo's pride, she was certain, would not have allowed for it, so she said yes.
