CHAPTER 10 : An Elf's mystery*

Severus gave the elf a bewildered look. What did she mean by noble blood? Is Florina royalty? 

'That's impossible, she cannot be royalty, she is a muggle-born for Godric's Sake. And who is that Rose she was speaking of?' He made a mental note to ask the pig tailed elf all those questions later.

Slowly, the lifeless body in his arms started to show signs of life as she coughed violently. David immediately sat beside the potions master. Severus however let go of Florina who spat a blood clot onto the snowy ground. In sync with the weather, the storm around them finally died down as she opened her eyes.

The grinning handsome wizard seemed uncontrollably delighted as he scooted closer to Florina. He whispered softly, "Are you feeling better Florina?"

In response, she moaned in pain and huddled closer to Severus's chest which he wasn't too pleased with. David gave a glare at the displeased wizard. He couldn't stop staring jealously at how Florina was basically glued to the wizard clutching onto his black coat firmly. 

"Oh it must be so difficult for you to have an angel like her in your arms," he whispered hotly.

In turn, the potions master smirked coolly, "My, my. Are we jealous?"

"Piss off Snape!" he yelled "The only reason all of this is happening is because she needs you to save her life. But imagine the look on her face if she finds out that you touched her. There is a huge mountain over there that she would jump off from."

Severus gave him an icy look, "You should consider speaking politer to the people who know all your secrets. We wouldn't want a cruel person like me to spill all your beans to the angel now would we?"

"That threat won't work anymore slime ball" David glared at him "She will accept me for who I am."

Severus snorted "Are you seriously under the illusion that she would still be interested in you?" He got closer to his face and hissed "After what you did to her in the past? After what you did to her partner?"

David was taken aback and swallowed hard. He wasn't expecting the dark haired wizard to mention that, they made an agreement with the headmaster not to. He automatically moved away from the smirking wizard and held his head low. 

"How dare you bring that up?" he whispered angrily "In front of her! We made a vow in the presence of the headmaster to not to. It has been long since then, I am not even sure she remembers. And besides, how is that any different from what you did to that Evans girl?"

It was his turn to smirk . The dark haired wizard went pale and was inches away from hexing him. David knew he struck a nerve and smirked even more. The onyx- eyed wizard however recovered very quickly. 

"You are trading on thin ice Dickenson," he spoke calmly "I am not the one whom his love life is at stake here. So tread lightly."

"Who said I want to have a relationship with her?" David whispered his cheeks red "I made a promise and I intend to keep it... that's all."

Just as Severus was about to insult the angry wizard, Florina steered in his arms and spoke incoherently. David at once lowered himself and spoke softly, "What is it Florina?"

Her voice was barely a whisper "Ple.... St... figh...."

"What was that?", he brought his ears closer to her mouth. Severus apparently heard what the witch said and let out a heavy sigh. He looked down at girl who gradually began to recollect herself. He wasn't sure if this was the time to let go of her or not.

She repeated herself for the third time but still the clueless wizard wasn't able to catch it.

"Florina, can you please raise your voice?" David whispered once more.
