Adora
I watched Santiago carefully as he slid his shirt on his shoulders, his eyes meeting mine through the mirror.
I smiled and he pursed his lips together as he began to button his shirt up, starting at the bottom button.
"You tossed and turned a bit last night," he said, his eyes fixated on me through the mirror, "did you not sleep?"
I just jutted my bottom lip out, shaking my head. "I slept fine, it just took me a while to get comfortable."
"A while being all night?" He asked, shooting me a grin.
I smiled and fell on my back with a sigh.
In all reality, I was anxious.
I'd sneaked off and called the doctor last night after we got home and settled from Barcelona, and booked an appointment.
"You have a doctor appointment today?" He asked, grabbing his luxurious watch to clasp on his wrist.
I parted my lips in hesitation.
"I heard you on the phone last night," he said, "are you feeling sick, or something?"
"No," I said, shaking my head, "uh, my OB just told me I needed to book an appointment soon so I did."
"Oh, well do you need me to stay home and come with you?" He asked.
"Trust me," I said, grinning as he plopped down on the bed beside me, "you don't want to go to one of those appointments with me. They're very uncomfortable."
He just furrowed his brows together.
"They stick lots of things up me, so there's your explanation that you're wanting."
He just sucked in a breath. "As many things as I've stu-"
"Santiago," I muttered, slapping his shoulder as I stood up.
He chuckled and grabbed my wrist. "I'm kidding. Okay, I will most definitely not go to the doctor with you, but text me afterwards and tell me how it goes."
He pressed a kiss to my cheek and I smiled, pursing my lips together. Had I just lied to him?
Not completely.
He grabbed his sports coat and slid it on, his eyes boring into me. "You sure you're okay?"
"I'm positive," I said, "go, the boys are going to be late for school."
I stood pressed a kiss to his lips and smiled up at him.
He just sighed and walked away from me. "Okay. You better text me."
"I will," I said, smiling, "I will most definitely let you in on the well being of my vagina."
He chuckled and exited our bedroom, making me purse my lips together.
I hated lying to Santiago King because there was a part of me that absolutely understood the mind capacity of Santiago. He was one of the smartest people I've ever met in my life.
And he had a way of finding out things, even when they were made out to be the biggest secrets.
The most oblivious he'd ever been was when Alessandra was cheating on him. Santiago asked himself the same question everyone else asked- why would anyone cheat on someone as brilliant and perfect as Santiago King?
I sighed and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and hair, and threw my hair up into a quick ponytail. I turned off the lights and walked into the closet, picking out a comfortable outfit.
