Adora

My knee bounced up and down rapidly as I checked my phone every second or two, my chin in my palm as I sighed.

"Chill," Landon said, "can you not put your phone down for, like, and hour and have a nice meal?"

"Sorry," I said, "I haven't heard from Santiago all day."

"Well," he said, "one, we're in way different time zones and two, he's out in the woods."

I just furrowed my brows together and smiled. "You're right. He just probably doesn't have service."

I shoved my phone in my back pocket and a wave of relief settled over me. I hadn't really taken into consideration Santiago's remote location, so yeah, he probably didn't have service.

I looked over at the doors of the restaurant. "When's Nate going to be here?"

Landon looked down at his watch. "I don't know. Any minute now, he said ten minutes about ten minutes ago, so we'll see."

I just smiled. "Nervous?"

He smiled and looked down. "A little."

I rested a hand on top of his. "Don't worry, I won't do anything to embarrass you."

He laughed. "I'm not worried about that, believe it or not. I'm worried about myself."

l smiled a warm smile. "You'll be great."

Landon's smile faded, his eyes dilating. "Adds."

I smiled and turned around, but my eyebrows shot up. The guy strolling inside was walking with swagger, his shoulder- length hair the first thing I noticed.

Landon just stood up with a squeal, and I smiled when Nate pulled his sunglasses off of his face.

"Hi!" Landon greeted, throwing his arms around his neck.

"Hi, love," Nate said, smiling as Landon pulled away.

My eyebrows shot up when they kissed, and I blinked rapidly as I looked down.

"How was your flight?" Nate asked, sitting down beside Landon.

"Tiring."

Nate's eyes averted over to mine, his lips pulling up into a grin. "Hi, I'm Nate."

I just smiled and stuck my hand out. "I'm Adora."

"I've heard so much about you," we said at the same time, making Landon giggle and rest a hand on Nate's arm.

"So," I said, "do you have any plans of coming to the states anytime soon?"

Nate just grabbed Landon's hand, a broad smile on his face. "Uh, actually, I was going to tell you guys something."

Landon just looked over at him, eyebrows in a deep furrow.

I just smiled and folded my arms on the table.

"I was actually going to get a plane ticket back with you guys," he said, making Landon throw a hand over his mouth before he squealed.

"No way!" He squealed.

"Yes way!" Nate said, his eyebrows shooting up with a smile when Landon launched himself at him.

I just smiled and snapped a picture of them, smiling down at it.

"How long are you staying?" Lan asked.

"Not for long," he said, "probably a week or so?"

"That's good enough for me!" Landon squealed.
