Adora

"Beer for breakfast in Barcelona," Santiago said, throwing an arm around my shoulders, pressing a kiss to my temple, "does it get better than this?"

I rested a hand on his abdomen, looking up at him with a smile. I puckered my lips out and he leaned down, pressing a kiss to them.

"Say cheese, lovebirds!"I jumped when the flash went off on Luciana's phone, giggling as I tucked a chunk of hair behind my ear.

"I'm sending this picture to you, it's precious," Luciana said, nudging Santiago's elbow.

I smiled and the hostess smiled at the six of us, nodding her head towards an empty table. "Tu mesa está lista, Sr. King."

Santiago and Valentino both nodded, making Luciana and I giggle. They were both so used to having important titles, Santiago's more prominent in the states, and Val's more prominent here, in Barcelona.

"Aquí."

We followed the hostess to a large round table, the boys claiming their spots in between Val and Luciana first. Santiago settled himself in between his dad and I, and Luciana plopped down beside me."It feels so nice out," I said, "and the sun, that's a new thing."

Luciana giggled. "I can tell your natural tan is lacking. Maybe you two should come here for the honeymoon."

Santiago just choked on his beer, making me laugh and look over at him.

It was rare to see Santiago King get choked up. Who knew that his mother bringing up marriage could do so?

"They have the best cafe con leche," Luciana said, a hand on my arm, "you must try it."

I just looked over at her, smiling an uncomfortable smile.

"You don't like coffee," she said, pulling her hand away from my arm.

I giggled. "It's not that, it's just that I have to be in a very specific mood for coffee."

She shrugged. "Well, you're not old like me yet, so I understand."

I giggled and looked back down at the menu. Santiago rested his hand on my thigh, pressing his lips against my ear. "You're going to have to stop doing that little giggle."

He pulled away from me and I looked up at him, my lips parted slightly.

Santiago King didn't have any kind of a filter, even when his parents were within ten feet of him.

We earned Luciana's eyes, her lips pulled into a grin. "Do you two know what you're getting yet?"

I looked down at the menu I hadn't even opened yet. "Um, not quite."

She smiled. "I'll give you a recommendation, the sugary churros here are impeccable."

"I love churros, so that might just be what I get," I said, smiling as I closed my menu. I looked up at the boys who were invested in their phones, making Santiago cock his head over at them. He nudged his father's elbow, and Val smiled.

The boys gasped when Val snatched their phones, holding them in the air. "Mine."

"Abuelo Val," Josiah said, reaching for his.

"Get mine, too, while you're at it," Fred said.

"Nope. What's got you so invested, anyways?"

Val handed their phones over to Santiago and Santiago tucked them away in my purse, making the boys fold their arms over their chest.

"Texting a girl?" Val asked.

"No," they answered at the same time.

"You two should probably tell abuelo Val your plans for a girlfriend," Santiago said, nodding his head.
