I pulled my lips away from Adora's as soon as I heard the boys footsteps walking into the kitchen, but they weren't as erratic as usual.
They rounded the counter and I leaned against the counter, watching as they sat down without a word.
"Good morning," I greeted.
I could tell something was off- they weren't bouncing off the walls as usual, they were just being quiet.
Which was very unusual.
"Morning," Josiah, greeted rubbing the nape of his neck.
Adora smiles and grabbed their breakfast plates, handing them to them. "How did you guys sleep?"
Fred and Jo exchanged a glance.
"W-we slept good," Fred said, smiling over his shoulder at her.
She furrowed her brows together and smiled, her eyes widening as she grabbed her plate.
She plopped down at the table and I grabbed my plate, sitting down across from Adora.
The boys were picking around at their food.
"Alright," I said, "what's up with you two?"
They shook their heads at the same time.
"Nothing," Josiah said.
"Yeah, why would you even ask?" Fred asked, chucking nervously as he rubbed his neck.
"You two keep rubbing your necks. You only do that when you're in trouble or hiding something. So which one is it?"
Josiah jutted his bottom lip out and shook his head. "Nothing, r-"
"We saw you two last night'" Fred blurted.
My eyebrows went into a deep furrow. "Elaborate please?"
Josiah let out a sigh. "Good move, Fred."
"Well we walked outside last night and saw you two, " Fred said, "you know".
Adora just smiled and furrowed her brows. "What do you think was going on?"
Fred just shot her a dumbfounded look. "Sex".
His bluntness made my eyebrows shoot up and I leaned back in my chair, looking over at Adora.
Partly for an explanation.
I folded my arms over my chest and furrowed my eyebrows together.
Adora just giggled and looked down at her plate. "Fred, you didn't catch us in the act," she said, "we were just swimming."
I just nodded and took a sip of my orange juice. "True story."
Josiah just puckered his lips out and looked down at his plate.
Fred just shit us a dumbfounded look and sighed, looking back down at his plate.
I was just assuming the topic at hand was pushed off of the table so we sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Okay, secrets out," Josiah said, "Adora you're really loud during sex."
Adora's haw dropped and I couldn't help my eyes from widening, my lips piercing together.
Adora looked absolutely appalled.
As she should've been.
I watched her lips form to make words but she couldn't get any out, and she reached behind her to scratch the nape of her neck as the boys had been doing all morning.
