The Imperative

This is the order form of the verb.
E.g. Go to the shop and buy milk

Formation:
》Take the 'tu' 'nous' and 'vous' forms of the verb
》Knock off the personal pronouns

*Note that with the tu form in the -er verbs, we also drop the -s unless there is a vowel or y following it.

E.g.
Manger- to eat
Mange- give
Mangez- give
Mangeons- let's eat

Finir- to finish
Finis- finish
Finissez- finish
Finissons- let's finish

Attendre- to wait (for)
Attends- wait
Attendez- wait
Attendons- let's wait

We then use strong objects when talking about someone else, e.g. Let's wait for him- attends-lui.
In the negatives, we use the weaker form (me/ te/ le/ etc.)
E.g. Ne lui donnez rien- Give him nothing
Donnez-lui quelque chose- give him something

With reflective verbs, we follow the same rules, but we turn the reflective part into a strong object.
E.g.
S'amuser- to have gone
Tu t'amuses -> t'amuse
Amuse-toi- have fun
