"hayes! where are you?" abbie screams. her brown hair gets in her face and the wind is howling at it's swiftest speed.
"abbie? im right here, pretty girl. don't be scared." his arms wrap around her and she feels safe for once.
"i love you, pretty girl. im right here, don't be scared."
"i love you, too."
"don't cry everything's gonna be-"
"ABBIE WAKE UP."
abbie jolts awake.
"MASON GET OUT OF MY ROOM RIGHT THIS SECOND!"
"okay," her handsome blonde brother says calmly. "it won't be my fault if you're late for your first day, and Colton's going back to school now too. no more homeschool. "
"gah, Colton. im up, mason. im up. just get out, i have to get ready."
abbie gets up and starts dressing for school, then walks out of her room 45 minutes later wearing her favorite cardigan, shorts, and shoes. her hair was curled to perfection and her makeup was flawless. it was true, she was every boy's dream: smart, funny, beautiful. but she was taken, even though she knew deep in her heart she didn't love him. she loved hayes, the boy she was bestfriends with in seventh grade. she tried to get over him, but she realized she'd always love him. even if she didn't see him anymore, she'd always love him. she dreamed about him quite frequently.
after she walked out of her room her mother stopped her.
"Colton's picking you up." her mom had short brown hair with amazing green eyes. very beautiful for her age, everyone thought so.
"I know mom, thank you."
"you're welcome, abbie. aw, you look so beautiful." she embraces her, and when she releases her abbie realizes her precious mother has tears in her eyes.
"awh mom, don't cry. it's okay, I'm still your baby."
"no you're not, you're so big now. a sophomore, oh my word, where has the time gone?"
Colton pulls up and blows his horn, summoning abbie.
"that's Colton, you better go. have a good first day. I love you."
"love you too mom. bye! thanks for everything!" she exclaims as she's closing the door. she jumps in the car with Colton.
"how ya doin, beautiful?" he says with his deep voice. he was perfect, all the girls wanted him-or would at least. he had been homeschooled since 6th grade, but abbie had finally convinced him to come to school. he had gorgeous green eyes, a perfect sense of humor and personality. he had beautiful blonde hair that swooped a little onto his forehead but wasn't too over the top. he loved abbie a whole lot, truly loved her. he would do anything for her, and nothing to ever hurt her. every girl's dream, basically. they were the dream couple in all honesty. every girl wanted to be her, and every boy wanted to be hers. every guy wanted to be him, and every girl wanted to be his. dream couple.
"im okay, pretty tired though." she explained quietly. they talked on the way to the school, then parked and went in. he walked her to her 1st period class, and they parted ways after that. it was a fairly normal day, until she walked into 8th period.
there he was, his bright blue eyes and dark swoopy hair and perfect smile sparkling, sitting there in her eighth period class. abbie almost fainted. it was hayes grier, her middle school best friend.
all of a sudden the memories of the tears she cried the day he told her he was moving to a private school came back and haunted her. all of the memories came back. the times he treated her badly and the times he apologized and the times he cried for her, all of it came back. she stood there frozen in front of the door and then the bell rang. she found a seat close to the back, and sat.
after the hour and a half of lectures, the bell rang. as she was gathering her stuff, he walked up to her.
"abbie? do you remember me, im hayes grier?"
"oh my goodness, of course i remember you. I missed you so bad! im so happy you're back!" she exclaimed excitedly.
"hahaha, me too. wow, you're even more gorgeous than you were in 7th grade."
abbie blushed and thanked him.
after a rather lengthy conversation in the classroom, the teacher asked them to leave.
"uh, do you wanna go to Starbucks with me and continue this?" he said gleefully.
"um sure! let me call Colton and tell him I'll catch up with him later."
"okay, pretty girl." he smirked.
after 6 rings, Colton picked up.
"hey, where are you?" he said immediately.
"go on home, I'll catch up with you later. I have an old friend here with me who I'm gonna catch up with. I'll see you later."
"uh um okay, have fun. see you later i guess."
"alright, bye."
she turns to hayes, "shall we, mr.grier?"
"we shall."
they walked out together and got in his car and headed to Starbucks.
