Forbidden: Chapter 19

Jack's POV:

it was about 9:00 on a Friday night, and i was just about to head home from the strip. i was about to get in my jeep, when i got a text. it was abbie.

A: hey, can you come pick me up from roseanna's?

i thought about it for a moment, but i decided i would since i really liked abbie and i was only about 5 minutes from there.

J: yeah, see you in about 5.

i got in and sped the whole way there.

J: im here.

she came walking out of the restaurant with mascara dripping down her face and her eyes swollen. she was wearing a spirit jersey with leggings and tennis shoes. she looked gorgeous as always.

"thank you so much jack." she said getting in. about that time, i saw an angry Hayes Grier coming out of the restaurant. i locked her door and window. he pulled on the handle then cursed at me. i told him to chill, then he came around to my side. i opened my door and got out.

i stood about 2 feet over him.

"what's your problem,man?" i said calmly.

"my problem is that you are with my girlfriend."

"bro, she texted me and asked me to pick her up. i was just being a friend. back off a little, you're being really protective for no reason." his facial expression softened.

"im sorry, man. can i just talk to her?"

"that's for her to decide, dude. right now, you just need to chill and go home. call her later or something, just don't cause a fight. she's pretty tense right now too." i always knew how to negotiate.

"thanks, man. um, can you do me a favor?"

"sure."

"just tell her i love her, tell her i need her. tell her im sorry. i was stupid."

"i will, man. go home now, okay? let her cool off and cool off yourself. it'll help you out." he nodded and went back inside.

i got back in the car and abbie just looked at me.

"what the heck was that?" she said raising her eyebrows.

"that, dear abbie, was negotiation. he told me to tell you he's sorry, and he loves you." i started the car and started to drive off. abbie just stared at me for a second then shook her head at me.

i drove her directly home and told her goodnight.

Nash's POV:

Hayes came home at about 9:45.

"i guess you guys decided to skip out on dinner, huh?" i joked.

"leave me alone." Hayes spoke angrily.

"Hayes!!" Skylynn screamed and ran over to him to give him a hug. he pushed her off.

"go on Skylynn!" he snapped. she started crying and ran over to me. i picked her up.

"woah, what's your problem?" i was mad now.

"my problem is that my girlfriend likes to make eyes at Shawn Mendes and then leave Roseanna's with Jack Gilinsky!"

"who doesn't like to make eyes at Shawn Mendes though?" i said sarcastically to lighten the mood.

"you're not helping." he sat down on the couch.

"im guessing she glanced at Shawn and you called her out, right?" i said sitting down with Skylynn's head still buried in my shoulder.

"that's exactly what happened."

"do i know you or what?"

"or what." he was so angry.

"hey sky, go on up to bed sweetheart. i'll be up in a minute to tell you goodnight." she nodded and went on upstairs, dragging her stuffed horse behind her. "now Hayes, have you ever seen love in someone's eyes?" he didn't say a word.

"im guessing not then. well, i have. and i saw it when abbie was looking at you. you can't see it, but i do. and when someone looks at you like that, there's no going back. they're always gonna look at you like that. and abbie, LOVES you. she isn't gonna leave you. i swear she isn't. stop being so jealous okay?" I sounded like i watched too many soap operas with mom.

"i get it Nash. im just pissed off. I'm going to bed, I'll see you in the morning." he walked upstairs with his head hung low.

then i heard a voice.

"what's pissed off mean?" Skylynn had been in the doorway the whole time. I chuckled then picked her up.

"nothing you need to know right now." and she nodded and we went upstairs.

after tucking her in, the doorbell rang. I opened in to find a note.

you better watch out son. tryna fight with Colton and now Jack Gilinksy. you're gonna get it man. come near either of 'em and the brick won't be the last thing knocking you out.
