Forbidden: Chapter 2.

Abbie's POV-

it felt so wrong, but it seemed so right. there i was in the now 16 year old Hayes Grier's car, talking to him and realizing I should be with Hayes, not Colton. I didn't love Colton, after all. but with hayes, i didnt know if it was love, but i knew it was something. something me and Colton didn't have.
as I looked into his bright blue eyes and sang along to old Ed Sheeran songs in bad pitch, I couldn't help but fall in love. his smile had my stomach in my throat and the mention of his name gave me so many butterflies, it was scary. when we arrived at Starbucks he told me to take a seat. I thought we were getting drinks but apparently not.
as I went to sat down, I thought he was right behind me. he wasnt, he was at the cash register, ordering our drinks. I rushed up to give him the money for mine, but he turned it away.
"you are a lady, and you will not pay for your drink when you are with me, do you understand?" he asked quietly. the blue in his eyes was shimmering, and it was so beautiful. he was so beautiful.
"but hayes-"
"no, go sit down,abbie." he said without looking at me, then turned to the cashier with the money and a sparkling smile that lit up the room.
after he paid he came and sat down with me.
"the drinks are being made," he said enthusiastically. "i got your favorite from middle school."
"oh, hayes, you didn't!" i exclaimed with a huge smile. "Hayes Grier just how do you remember my favorite drink?"
"abbie, i remember everything about you." he said with a deep passion in his eyes. but he surely didn't feel the same. he couldn't. he had to of had a girlfriend, look at him! and look at the way he treated me. after all, I was just a long lost best friend, but he treated me as if i were a princess.
"Hayes and," the barista held up the cup to read it. "the most beautiful girl anyone's ever seen?" the barista looked confused but smiled as we walked up.
i couldn't help but smile, i wanted to kiss him right there in the middle of that Starbucks but I didn't, because i had a boyfriend. I had to stay faithful.
I smirked at him as I read the cup, then gave him a friendly hug.
"thank you, you're the best." I whispered.
"anytime, pretty girl." he whispered back.
we sat back down and talked until dark.
"wow, hayes we need to get going. can you take me home?"
"my pleasure." he said cupping his hands around mine and smiling.

Hayes POV-

she was beautiful, beautiful in every kind of way that could possibly be beautiful. nothing could ever describe how she looked that day when i saw her. i loved her, I had loved her since middle school. I tried to win her over, but it was obvious she loved her boyfriend of almost 3 years, not me. when I moved to the private school, I vowed I would never date anyone until I had her. she was all i wanted then, and to this day she is all i want. leaving her behind was the hardest thing ive ever done, but I did it because I had to. just watching her Hazel eyes flick from me to the road tied my stomach in knots. she didn't know, but I spent my last 20 dollars on our drinks. it was okay, I was spending it on something that was so important to me.she deserved all the money in the world, she was that amazing. as I dropped her off at her house at 7:00 on that Monday afternoon, I couldn't help but smile. she had this tiny frame, she was one of the smallest girls ive ever seen. I wished I could hold her in my arms one more time, just like in Starbucks. but she had a boyfriend, she loved him. not me. I picked up my phone and texted her.

"see you tomorrow?" I sent. I got an immediate response.
"of course! thank you for everything." then I did something risky.
"may i have the pleasure of picking you up tomorrow morning?"
"most certainly. 7:45?" it was really early, I would have to get up at 5:45 to get there in time, and I would have to drop my sister off earlier at the elementary school early, too. but it was worth it.
"on the dot (: " I sent back, then drove away.
