Abbie's POV-

i walked in the house at 7:45 while everyone was eating dinner. it was probably the most awkward moment ever, but I rolled with it.
"where were you abbie?" my mother exclaimed, I could tell by the tone in her voice she had been worried, not worried enough to call, but worried.
"oh um, I met up with an old friend from middle school. we went to starbucks, I ate a sandwich there"-lie-"so im good."
"oh okay." my mother said confused.
"what friend?" my father asked. he was tall and dark haired with the same hazel eyes as me.
"her name was, uh, olivia. olivia mathis, yeah."-another lie-"she um moved in 7th grade. and uh she just moved back and we went to Starbucks in her car to catch up." i said nervously. everyone looked at me with the look that said "what is wrong with you" , then I went upstairs.
i was done with the night, so I sat down at my desk, did my homework, and then at 9:00 i passed out.
i woke up to a call from Colton at 11:40.
"hello?" I said groggily.
"hey beautiful. will you be riding with me in the morning?"
"um no, my friend is picking me up actually." I wasn't in the best mood, and my brother blasting old Green Day songs in the next room over didn't help.
"oh okay, well I guess I'll see you at lunch tomorrow?"
"yeah, of course. I have to go now."
"okay, I love you abbie."
"love you too Colton, bye."
i marched into the next room, unplugged mason's speaker, then yelled at him to stop blasting crappy music at 12 in the morning.
then I went back into my own room and fell asleep.

the next morning I woke up at 6:30 and was ready by 7:30. I waited at the door for Hayes to pull up, and my mother started asking questions. i avoided most until Hayes drove up and I ran out before she could ask anymore. thankfully she didn't look out the window or come out of the door.
"hey, pretty girl." he said sweetly as I got into the car.
"hey, thank you for picking me up!" I looked into those big blue eyes to find he was already staring.
"anything for you, pretty girl." his eyes flick to the road and within 5 minutes we're at the school.
i walk in to first period, and the sight of him shocks me.
"Colton?" i say quietly.
"hey beautiful," he says leaning in to kiss me. i keep my eyes wide open and just stare after our lips part. "what's the matter? a little shocked? haha, well here's why I'm here: i changed a few of my classes to be with you." he smiles and hugs me.
"oh uh what classes?" i ask, praying he won't say 8th period.
"1st, 4th, 6th, and I'm trying to get into your 7th." he says. relief swells up inside me.
"oh okay, that's great. thank you, Colton." i lie, then kiss him on the cheek.
"haha, anything for my beautiful girl." i just smile and sit down next to him. this will be a long year, but at least i still have 8th period. Colton continually tries to hold my hand throughout the period, but I avoided it at all costs. I have to break up with him, I don't love him. i thought i did for the longest time but i just don't feel about him like i feel about hayes. I have to break up with him.
