"So what does it do?" Vanessa questions, leaning against the railing as she tried to regain her balance and ability to walk. Tony remained silent. "Hello?"

"We don't really know," he mumbles under his breath.

"What?" Vanessa shouts, ceasing all movement. Tony turns to face her, licking his lips, thinking of a way to put his words together.

"You're the first tester of the Super Heart," he whispers. "But I have strong faith that it will work and you can go back to living normally-"

"No, I will never live normally again," she snaps. "And it's not because of the heart." Tony nodded, following her as she took more steps forward.

"So I'm the person that will show you if your Super Heart thing works or not?" she questions. Tony hesitantly nods. She lets out a short chuckle. "Perfect."

"It was either that or let you die," Tony remarks. Vanessa purses her lips, and nods, saying she understood. But hell, having something inside her body that could explode without warning really scared the hell out of her.

With her eyes closed, her lips slightly apart, and her head tilted into the head of the back of the chair, she basked in the rays of the sun. She didn't know if this would bake the thing that was inside her chest or not, but she didn't care. Tony pushed her to the decision to just live and not be afraid of something irrational happening.

Footsteps padded on the balcony, Vanessa lifting her head and turning her upper body. She gave a smile and greeted Peter, inviting him to sit with her.

"How freaked out are you about the heart?" he questions softly, staring at her kindly while she resettled her body back into its relaxed position.

"On the inside, I'm exploding with nerves," she replies. "But on the outside," she coolly adds, "I'm just fine."

"Mr. Stark told me to come out here and suggest for you to join me at high school," he speaks, his voice gentle, as if he was dealing with fragile equipment.

"Yuck," Vanessa responds, adding a gag. She sat up, now making eye contact with Peter. He shifted in his seat a little. "But I'd rather go to high school than sit around here all day, every day, doing absolutely nothing."

"G-great," Peter responded, showing a nervous smile. "I'll tell him." He stood, almost reentering the large home before remembering what Ned told him to do. "Do you, uh, want to come to this sushi place with Ned and I for dinner?" he questions after spinning on his heel. Vanessa sits up once more, letting out a sigh.

"I'm not a big fan of sushi," she responds.

"How about Mexican?" he asks.

"Perfect. Are you picking me up then?" she questions, wondering where this burst of confidence sprang from.

"Yeah, yes, of course," Peter stammers. "Ned and I will be here about 6," he adds. She nods, laying back into the chair. Peter lets out the breath he had held in unknowingly, walking back to Tony, prepared for his mini mission for the day.

Vanessa was growing more and more curious of the room that was supposedly forbidden to her. Tony would've been better off telling her nothing of the room, whereas now that he's told her it's off-limits, she cared a lot more than she did before - which she cared very little, at the most.

Her fingertips grazed the steel door, her lips peeling back into her mouth, being crushed by her teeth. She felt guilty for even glancing at the door every time she passed it. But it had grown too much - she needed information and she needed it now.

Plucking every bit of courage up in her body, she pushes open the door. Beyond the steel door, and her anxious thoughts of trespassing, laid hundreds of pieces to make the tech Tony did. Her mouth fell slightly ajar, her eyes scanning the entirety of the room. It was quite spacious, but with the cluttered equipment, it made her claustrophobia reappear.

A clank echoed across the room, causing Vanessa to raise her eyebrows. "Hello?" she called out, realizing right after how stupid of a reaction that was. What if it was her uncle? With that thought processing in her brain, she decided to make a run for it and never return to this disastrous and possibly dangerously lethal room.

She shut the door with ease, speed walking back to the room where she was staying. She had to get ready anyways, it was nearly 5:30.

The doorbell rang, making Vanessa's nerves arise. She swallowed her thick saliva and approached the top of the stairs, watching Tony answer the door below. "Hey, kid," he announces, shaking hands with the guest. "Vanessa!" Tony shouted, not seeing her at the top of the staircase.

"Coming," she shouted back, walking down the stairs at a normal pace, not wanting to seem eager nor bored with the idea of hanging out with Peter and Ned. Maybe she'd finally find out what they did for Tony that made them visit her uncle's house almost every day.

Meanwhile, Peter was watching Vanessa descend, unable to stop his heart from pounding ravenously or the nervous fidgeting of his fingers. He hadn't liked someone this way since Liz, who he finally no longer felt romantic feelings towards. This was due to the lack of contact between them ever since she left the school with her head hung low, and the state with a heavy heart. Peter knew he deserved that - he ditched her at Homecoming, after all. But he wasn't going to mess anything up that flourished between him and Vanessa. From what Tony boasted about, he really liked her personality. And now, seeing her in person after a few months of Tony's proud rantings, he was falling hard.
