It's the next day, and Kate and Vanessa had just got back from shopping, an adventure neither of the boys wanted to endure. It was perfect for Vanessa, helping her get away from Peter for a bit, and for the girls' budding friendship. Also, Kate now knew of everything Vanessa knew of. That's how much Vanessa talked when dealt with a tornado of emotions, and because of how close she felt with her already.

Kate told Vanessa to stop overthinking and just hang out with Peter. They were obviously a good match, and Kate didn't want to watch their potential go to waste.

"From what I've seen so far, you guys have chemistry," she whispered as they approached the house.

"Hey, Ned," Vanessa greeted, setting her shopping bags on the couch nearest her. "Where's Peter?"

"Up in our room," Ned replied. "Could you talk to him?"

"That's my plan," Vanessa grinned, heading up the stairs.

"I don't think I can do it, Mr. Stark," Vanessa heard Peter say, assuming he was on the phone. He sounded so broken, which hurt Vanessa so bad. "What if someone tries to get her as a way of getting to me?"

Vanessa figured she couldn't eavesdrop anymore, so she knocked. Peter ended the call quickly and sniffled hard before answering the door.

"Oh, Peter," Vanessa mumbled, going to wipe his cheeks dry, but he grabbed her wrists, pulling her over to his bed. They sat down, and Peter began to blubber an apology. "It's okay, Peter. I'm sorry I'm such a bitch."

"What?" Peter questioned, surprised. "You're not even close to being one."

"I need to understand that you're not going to want to share everything with me, and I guess I have to deal with it."

"What if I told you?" he asked quietly. "I'm scared you won't believe me-"

"Do you have telekinesis too?" Vanessa questioned excitedly, obviously teasing him. She knew he could use some cheering up.

Peter chuckled, shaking his head. "I don't know how to tell you, really."

"Then you're not ready to. So, you don't have to," Vanessa responded. "I get it, Peter." Peter stared at her for awhile, and Vanessa stared back. Kate eventually broke it up.

"I have alcohol bitches!" she exclaimed from downstairs. Vanessa and Peter went wide-eyed, rushing down to the living area.

"Where'd you get that from?" Vanessa asked, picking up the bottle of Vodka and examining it.

"From my parents' liquor cabinet," Kate chuckled. "It was in the very back, so they won't notice."

"Should we really drink this?" Vanessa questioned. Without a second longer of hesitation, Peter grabbed the bottle from Vanessa and gulped a couple shots worth of Vodka. He dropped the bottle from his lips and puckered his face.

"That's the spirit!" Kate shouted, doing the same. Vanessa watched, dumbfounded. "Ned!" Kate exclaimed, handing the bottle to him. He reluctantly took a swig, then took another.

"Nessa," Peter spoke, holding the bottle out for her to grab. "Come on, don't be a party pooper," he teased.

"Oh, really?" Vanessa challenged, snatching the bottle and chugging away. "Goddamn," she hissed, feeling the liquor burn like hell as it ran down her throat.

It'd been a couple hours now, the four teenagers drunker than a boat of sailors. Peter was the first to lay down and stare at the star-filled sky, Vanessa laying her head next to his, but her body went the opposite way of his, the other two copying them.

"It's so pretty," Vanessa murmured as she gazed at the dark yet brightly lit sky.

"You're pretty," Peter spoke, unaware of his word spillage.

"Thanks," Vanessa giggled. She turned onto her side, Peter doing the same. "You're pretty, too."

"I don't think you're supposed to call a guy pretty," he chuckles, making Vanessa laugh harder. He admired her laugh.

"Well, May calls you a handsome little boy all the time, so I thought I'd switch it up," she responds, turning to lay on her back again. Peter didn't move. He stared at her side profile as she watched the sky. She gasped, scaring Peter out of his trance. "Look, Peter," she exclaimed, clutching at the side of his head, grasping her fingers gently around his chin, helping him look up, "a shooting star!"

He smiled, turning his head back to her. His eyes glanced at her lips, then went back up to her eyes. He couldn't think about kissing her... could he?

Kate giggled and pulled Ned inside the cabin, but Vanessa was very unaware of her surroundings so Peter laid there with her for a few more minutes. He was growing too curious as to what the other two were doing, about to stand up from his current sitting position when Vanessa sat up, taking a small glance back at him.

"I don't want to go inside," Vanessa whimpered.

"Then we won't," Peter replied, scooting to sit behind her. Vanessa laid back down, her head in Peter's lap. She gazed up at the sky once more, trying to make out shapes in the stars.

Peter gazed down at Vanessa, admiring her features under the moonlight. He brushed her hair back from her face and imagined leaning over to press a sweet, gentle kiss to her lips. But he couldn't. And he felt awkward just thinking about it.

"Have you ever had a girlfriend before?" Vanessa questioned, now looking back up at Peter.

"I almost did," he sighed. "But she moved."

"Aw, I'm sorry," Vanessa pouted.

"It's okay," he replied, smiling as he touched his finger to her cheek.

"I've never had a boyfriend before," she spoke, returning her gaze to the shapes. "Never even been close."

"Not even a kiss?" Peter quizzed.

"Well, I've been kissed. But not romantically," she confesses, now feeling sad and vulnerable. She sits up quickly, grabbing Peter's hand. "Let's go inside now."

The tall shrubs and bushes shook as Peter and Vanessa entered the house, as if someone was leaving from their hidden spot there.
