Chapter Twenty One
***Elena's POV***
"Get up, lady." I hear a voice grumble. I feel a strong grip force me up.
"Hey! Watch yourself, mister. That hurt--" I scream as another man comes toward me with a sack and rope. "What's going on here!?" I'm being tied and my head was being shoved into a potato sack.
"I demand to know what's going on!"
"Did you forget to shut her up, Jason?" A man says. Another one laughs and the man pushing me grumbled and kept walking.
"Where are you taking me? Why are you doing this?"
"You ask way too may questions little lady. If you don't shut up, I'm going have to shove a rag in your mouth."
If it was any thing like this potato sack I was keeping my mouth shut.
The darkness was caving in and my feet ached from walking so much. I was becoming a walking zombie. My stomach growled. I was shoved forward, I stumbled and fell onto the ground. I pulled the potato sack off. "Hey!" I flinched, this guy looked horrid. "It looks like you haven't taken a bath in weeks, man."
"Watch you mouth, lady. After a couple of days, you'll look just like him." He points toward the corner of the room. I squinted my eyes and a small creature stared to come out hiding.
I gasped, it was a boy. I couldn't tell the age. He was bone, and dirty, he must have been in here for a long time. I noticed something around his tiny legs, it was a chain.
When I realized he was locked up I was too. The man had put a chain around my leg. "Absolutely not! Get this thing off of me!" I yelled and kicked him away from me. He doubles over but quickly regains his position and comes close to me and slaps me across the face. I tasted blood. He laughs and shuts the gate. I crawl over to him, "no! Let me go!"
He ignores me and walks away, laughing. "He's not coming back." The voice says behind me.
"Excuse me?" I turn and look at the boy.
"He probably won't come back for another week."
"A week?!" I gasp. "I can't stay here for another week! I have to get out of here." I scream out for help for hours but no one came, it was as if I couldn't be heard. I started to sob, he was right, I'm never going to get out of here. I was never going to find my mother or father.
I'm never going to see William ever again. I'm so stupid! I should have never left.
I crawled over to a spot that I'm guessing is suppose to be a mat and tried to go to sleep.
"I'll never get to sleep." I mumble to myself.
"It's hard at first. But you get used to it."
"Who are you?"
"Joseph. Joseph Carter."
