Chapter Thirty
She gripped tightly around the poison bottle that she received secretly in the safety of an abandoned water mill.
Her hands shook as she pulled two cups out of the cabinet; careful not to spill the poison she poured the whole bottle into the steaming pot of tea.
She picked up the tray and headed for the garden to meet up with the man who forced her hand to do this evil deed.
Her heels clicked loudly on the glossed tile flooring and she took a jagged breath as she walks through the double doors into the garden.
The scent of roses and tulips smelt of sweet revenge. He turned to the sound of her heels and she shuddered at the sight of his devilish grin. He comes close to her, setting the try aside and touched her face. She bit the inside of her lip to keep from flinching.
"My sweet Erica." He purrs.
"M-master." She forces herself to say sweetly. "I brought you some tea."
"My dear, you're so sweet to me." He ignores the tea and comes closer to her and she freezes. He pulls her around her waist and she can feel the hot breath on her neck as his lips touch her earlobe saying, "Elena, you've come to me at last."
Frozen in fear she couldn't respond. He gripped her waist tighter and pulled her closer as he chuckles. He pulls away and gestures to the bench. "Please have a seat. Tell me why have you decided to come now?"
"I've come to offer myself in exchange of my mother's freedom."
"And what of your dear sister, Erica?"
"She's betrayed me and left me to die." She forces herself to sound angry. "She means nothing to me."
"My my my, these few years have blackened your heart, haven't they?" He smiles finding this rather amusing. "Let's talk more about this over a cup of the lovely tea you brought."
Panicked as he hands her a cup of tea she just stared at it.
"What is the matter?" He asks.
If she refuses to drink this he'll become suspicious but if she drinks it she'll die and all of this would be for nothing. Shakily, she brings the cup to her lips and takes a sip.
She has to smile back the revolting taste of tea. Her body instantly starts to fight the poison and her vision begins to blur.
"D-do excuse me if this tea isn't at the best, I-its been years since I made tea." She tried to say clearly. The poison began to spread into her heart and it was matters of time before she would die.
"Nonsense." He laughs and brings the tea to his lips. She smiles as he gulps the tea down. "What-?" He stands up fast and starts to sway. He takes in realization what had happened and he falls limp to the ground.
Trying to stand up she falls along side him.
