Avina huddled in the corner of the dirty dungeon cell. Her throat hurt from all the screaming and her hands hurt from gripping the bars too hard. Tears streamed down her face as she regretted making a move against Emmy without Seoras present.
Seoras would have saved her. Seoras would have chosen her. Seoras would have thrown Emmy in the dungeons after she saved him from Emmy’s enchantment. Her Father would come save her. Her Father would know she’s in trouble and come to Ceco to save her, she just had to believe.

“What will you be planting instead?” Gengrick asked Emmy.
“Roses.” Emmy told him.
“Are they you’re favorite flowers?” He asked her.
“Yes.” Emmy told him as she turned to smile at him.
Her smile was soft and gentle. Nothing like the wooden face before when she fought Inez. Gengrick s heart skipped a beat and he quickly looked away. She was his Master’s woman, he had no right to look at her as a woman.
“Please forgive me.” Gengrick said as she bowed to her. “I failed to protect you.”
“You did not fail me.” Emmy told him as she placed her hand on his shoulders to help him stand back up. “I was not hurt in any way and the hidden guards were still protecting me from afar. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I...I drank the sleeping tonic in the soup. I fell asleep.” He admitted.
“Then let this be a learning lesson for everyone.” Emmy told him.
Gengrick nodded his head in understanding. From now on, he will be on alert and be extra careful. He could not fail again.
The whole city was on extra alert. They have felt the after effects of the fight between the Mages and Wizards at the castle, however no ordinary citizen had enough courage to ask if anyone was hurt during the battle. Slowly there were rumors that started spreading that their Lady Tomas fought and won against the assassins.
Most of the citizens did not believe that Lady Emmy could do such a thing and quickly dismissed the rumors, while others were even more weary of her. The rumors of Lady Emmy must be right, seeing how she defeated Mages and Wizards. She must be a witch!
No matter what Emmy does, she could not win the people’s heart and trust.
After training, Emmy would work in the rose garden along with the gardeners. After the gardeners left, Emmy would sit in the middle of the field and cultivate her magic. It was her sanctuary. But her lonely figure made Gengrick’s chest feel stuffy. Every night she would stay out in the rose field long after the sky turned black and into the dark night. Even with the stars and the moon shining brightly, her lonely figure blended in with her surroundings.
Emmy knew there were people watching her, she just thought it was her hidden guards that were assigned to her. However from the corner of the training field, stood Gengrick, hidden in the shadows, staring at Emmy’s lonely figure. He wouldn’t leave his place until Emmy went inside of the castle.
Gengrick knew the thoughts he has for Lady Emmy was forbidden. How could he covet his Master’s woman? How could he be so disloyal? He had tried to stay away from her, keep himself busy. However he would find his eyes searching for her in every room, on the training field, at the dining hall.
Gengrick would dream about her at night. Dreams that started innocently, but lately they have turned passionate, which would cause him to wake up and have to take a cold bath in the middle of the night. He couldn't betray his Master, so he swallowed the feelings that started building for Lady Emmy and acted like nothing happened.
