I wake up laying on the couch.When I sit up,I see everyone looking at me patiently.I sigh.
"I'm sorry we did this to you Jen," dad speaks up first.
"We didn't know it would go this far," mom finishes.
"It's not your fault," I defend. "It's mine.It was self-inflicted. I just couldn't handle it."
"Jen,we all just want the best for you," Liu smiles. "We all care about you."
"I know," I choke out. "I care about you all too."
Ben looks down at the floorboards then up at me. "Maybe if we hadn't started dating,things would've been different," he says.
"But Ben I-" I start.
"No," he cuts off. "I'm sorry.Your dad doesn't want me to be with you.And your parents argued over it.And this happened.It's all my fault."
I cover my face in my hands and sob.Then I look up at him. "It's not your fault," I breathe. "It's DAD'S fault.HE'S the one who said you an I can't date.Ben Drowned,I love you God damn it."
"I love you too Jen," he chokes out. "I love you too,Jen Woods."
I walk over to him and hug him.He hugs back and rests his chin on my head.I let teardrops drip onto his shirt.I could tell he didn't care.When we pull away,I look over at dad.
"If you don't want me and Ben to be together,then your nuts!" I exclaim. "All you ever wanted for me was to be happy and with Ben,I am!"
He nods,smiling sadly. "If that's what you want baby girl," he whispers. "If it's what you want."
